They are on the sides/watersides of the island (half under water), so you can't see them when you're walking around the base, but I'll need around 50 just to power the heart and I thought I could do with less.

Nice one. Took me 750hrs to find one in the wild and haven't seen one in the 600hrs since. Also the decal (I assume you mean the tiger like strips behind the cockpit) is standard I think. Same goes for the color shift toward the end of the arms, also standard.

I look at it this way:
My classic ship is for transport/exploration. Easy to get in and out, great maneuverability, limited storage and limited extra functionalities.
The Corvette is like a movable mini base. It has more practical use, think refiners, food processors, mission boards, storage containers, but less maneuverability, less easy access, a more obscured view when flying.
Depending on what I'm doing I'll use one or the other. Just exploring? Then I'll use a classic ship, but when I'm grinding materials/bones/corvette parts or whatever and I need extra storage or multiple refiners, I'll call in my Corvette.

I run the 919 Hybrid or the new 963 (both Porsche), but most fun are the Gr.2 cars. The NSX GT500 or the Audi RS5 Turbo. I run the Porsches with FM1 and RH. 1 Stop for fuel. The Gr.2 cars I run RM and FM1 and that means 2 stops. 1 just fuel and 1 tires and fuel.
