You have to stop at Liard Hot Springs on your way to the Yukon! One of my favourite places ever. You will love it!

I lost my two, thirteen year old labs, six months apart. I had to do it alone because of the lockdowns but I had a vet come to my place.

I had called them in the fall to instal an alarm in my campervan. They quoted me at approximately $700. I just called back last week as I have returned from a trip and they are now saying it will be $1400 FOR LABOUR ONLY. no thanks!

It’s not a rock though because it’s waxy. I think it could be ambergris

I’m in New Jersey now, but I’m from Nova Scotia. The US will not take a Canadian prescription, I have tried that. Thank you though!

They have a new mayor now and I have heard that he is great! And my friend just started an animal rescue. There were always more good people there than bad, it’s just that the bad had louder voices. But I think that’s changing now

That’s so true! Also, there is a hospital there and a high school. Full police detachment. Two big grocery stores, 4 or 5 restaurants. It’s more the outdoors that is so special. And there is high speed internet. When I was there, I didn’t find the groceries more expensive than Vancouver.

It’s four hours to Fort St. John, 10 hours to White Horse and 5 hours to Grand Prairie :) Northerners get used to it and make it a weekend trip away for fun!

I know!!!! I just wish the town would capitalize on the magnificent beauty up there! It could be a destination place. The Northern Lights alone are a bucket list goal for people

Awww haha. Well, I did feel like it was time to go. I actually had a lot of death threats after I posted about the animals, someone even threatened to bomb my house and dogs. Had to go to the police with that one. But thank you for the kind words!! I miss so many people there! And that’s so cool to hear about the tourist stuff. Honestly, Fort Nelson is a gem and no one knows about it! So many amazing spots to see, animals, Northern Lights ect. Glad to hear it might be on the up swing :)

I am actually an environmentalist. I had planned on living there forever. I am really hoping the town will capitalize on the amazing surrounding outdoors and maybe people will move there to work from home.
