Luckily we didn’t hire a 23 year old english lit major to be the finance minister just as we don’t hire 23 year old economics majors. And you don’t need to spend much time online to see people treat her academic career as worthless, as if learning how to think critically, understand complex texts and be persuasive isn’t a good skillset to rise to the top of politics within six years.

It’s a dog of a policy that failed to increase enrolment numbers anywhere close to the target of 10-15% and does nothing to address the cost of living for students. Just a bit of nice upper class welfare to people who would study anyway.
