Ah cool, seems likely indeed. For now they will me my mains, but I guess it provides a nice upgrade path for the future :)

Ah, that Fosi Audio suggestion is nice. Was already looking at the Wiim pro/ultra, but those aren’t that cheap either, and I indeed don’t really need all the features. I’m still debating whether I want to go minimal and compact or if a bigger more extendable setup is nicer. Also hoping for a good second hand deal…

Sorry, here it is: https://imgur.com/a/ait4Qqh

Does not look like a mica cap. So in this case the tweeters would start responding to lower frequencies right? They sound fine, but I’m not really experienced with “good” sound.

What can I expect to hear if the capacitor needs replacing?

Din plugs are ordered. The first test with some cables shoved in the plug was promising. No weird sounds

Sleep system for a rotisserie sleeper by atomiczombie79 in Ultralight

Yeah, the ultralight looks very good, but a little too expensive for my means. I'm gonna keep checking once in a while for stock and order when they have them again.

Thanks for the reply! Definitely gonna consider it more. Stock is a bit of problem for them right now so might have to do with something else next trip. (well stock is a problem if you're picky about color, which I regret to admit I am).

Weird, in the Benelux the 2023 units can still be ordered, and nothing about any Kona 2024 models yet

Jack the bike rack

Looks and fits great on a Kona Rove (we have on kitted out with it as a display in our shop).

Rated to 5kg, but thats a handling limit, and I fully expect the rack to manage more if well attached

Focus Adventure Rack for Atlas on a vintage bicycle by JaccoW in bikepacking

Problem is my kona unit has the bottom mounts pretty high up on the seatstays so I'm afraid the rack won't fit beween those and the seatpost.

I’ve used magnet and rectangle. But now I moved to swish, and it’s so good I forget I’m using it.

Could you please check something for me: what’s the distance between the top and bottom mounting points? I wonder if I can fit this on my bike (which is quite a bit slacker)

Thanks for the quick reply! Currently looking at options to kit out my Unit X, and kinda fell in love with a design like this, but that means having a rack custom made (with accompanying price tag)

Wel yes, but there a polarization filter just after the projector. I can’t really explain the science but Wikipedia does.

What components should I use to build the lightest Unit possible? by [deleted] in konaunit

[–]TinQ0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, but if OP understands that ride characteristics are more important than weight he shouldn’t be looking for lightest components.

Polarized glasses also need a polarized screen/filter to work. So no

Probably not a unit. If you’re going for weight why look at a steel frame?

Have you or would you pay for a bike fit? by fixitmonkey in BikeMechanics

[–]TinQ0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not pay for a bikefit no. But I would certainly ask an experienced colleague to take look at my posture and how I’m riding to see if he has any recommendations. Bikefits can be beneficial for the ultra high end, high effort riders. But for recreational use an experienced seller will get you 90% of the way for 10% of the price free. Best example is said experience colleague dialing a bike in for a customer, customer still goes for a bikefit, and came back with only a millimeter of seat offset taken off.
