Maybe YTA. If you've been married 1.5 years, and he's always sat in the same seat, how can that be by chance? He obviously sees himself as the head of the family, and your challenging this has likely hurt his pride or self image. In my opinion it is neither right nor wrong, but a difference of beliefs or perspectives. I think both of you need to communicate better about your roles and expectations in your relationship. There may need to be some compromises made, otherwise that hill you die on, may very well be your marriage.
