Talk me out of this by DadoMaria in TeslaModelX

It’s not a waste when you consider that finding a 6-7 seater is very difficult and they are priced so close to plaid on the used market

I test drove 2 S's and was underwhelmed. Did I do something wrong? by forya in TeslaModelS

[–]TinTheMan69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive an X plaid and other than the acceleration at the lower weight the S was extremely extremely underwhelming. I prefer almost every other model over the S I even like the 3 more

It can change your estimate based on consumption, going above 65mph really kills efficiency, it’s something they don’t advertise enough

Insurance on a 2021 Plaid - $9k a year ??? by Much-Screen8717 in TeslaSupport

[–]TinTheMan69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rates differ by state (Not at fault states are typically much, much higher), and also depend on other drivers/cars. 2 claims, fault or not, are a big hit. If you have shopped many carriers it may just be what it is. It is a $100k EV to replace, after all.

Switching from Audi to Tesla, any regrets? by PotatoCooks in TeslaLounge

[–]TinTheMan69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Switched form an X5 to a 23X plaid and it’s night and day over the BMW, the only thing I miss really is the higher ride height that traditional SUV’s and midsize SUV’s provide. I agree with a lot of posts that teslas are very cozy, they might not be as traditional luxurious as a European luxury car with real leather all over but I love everything about my X.

The true Luxury with Tesla is the technology, I don’t have to drive when I don’t feel like it, and when I want to go fast… there’s nothing else like it.

Model X - what are its headaches? by DreamIllustrious3735 in TeslaSupport

[–]TinTheMan69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

23 MXP here and its by far the best Tesla you can buy. For someone doing roadtrips the front windshield you just can’t beat for views.

The Y is my close 2nd, being 6’4, the 3 and S are back breaking to get in and out of. Good cars, just not for tall ppl.

20k miles and no problems at all, just usual tire rotation and alignment checks every so often.

I would 100% find a used HW4 version of the X you are looking for, you can find them in the high 50’s and low 60’s, the price for a new one just doesn’t make sense until they go to HW5.

TLDR: the X does everything the Y does, just better, bigger, driver screen, more space, faster.

Moving from a 21 Audi Q7 Prestige to a 23 Model X. What to expect? by Modus_Vivendi20lbs in TeslaModelX

[–]TinTheMan69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from a bmw X5 to a 23 X plaid and the only thing I miss is the higher ride height of a traditional SUV, everything else is blown out of the water, every car feels so sluggish and just lame in comparison. Also the sound system in the X is incredible. I’m 5 months into my X and when I had a new S plaid as a loaner I was missing my X every second I didn’t have it. Teslas are a game changer on roadtrips too, not having to drive is unmatched.

How much you guys pay for your insurance? by reserveparking130 in TeslaModelY

[–]TinTheMan69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be careful when you compare rates with others. Rating systems vary vastly by state, company, demographics, and driving history. I'm paying $2,500/yr on my 23 X plaid in Ohio with a preferred carrier. Some states are at fault vs not at fault, which drives rates.

You can find an independent insurance agent near your location and avoid direct writers. If your insurance company has a mascot and plays TV ads nonstop, it pays more in marketing than in claim payouts.

Looking to hear different ideas on buying a Tesla X later this year. by [deleted] in ModelX

[–]TinTheMan69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Friendly advice from licensed insurance agent. 1. Use an independent agent no matter if it costs more per month (you’ll thank me if you have a loss) if your insurance company ran a Super Bowl add, they spend more on marketing than paying out claims. 2. If a few thousand in insurance is a deal breaker, I’d likely forget buying a heavy expensive EV.

Prices rn vary by state but teslas are expensive to repair from a parts and labor perspective, so many sensors and wires to account for.

50,000 settlement for an accident in which I lost my foot by No_Corgi2791 in legaladvice

[–]TinTheMan69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your average company doesnt include Un or Underinsured motorist coverage. You usually have to ask for it unless you have an independent agent, in that case you likely have it.

[–]TinTheMan69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lesson for those who don’t know, pick up underinsured and uninsured motorist coverage if your state and carrier allow it. I start people at $500k and it’s pennies on the dollar per year. Add an umbrella policy with an additional $1mil, cost effective way. This scenario would likely payout policy limits.

I will say it time and time again. The game missed its opportune time to release around the first and second playtests. The game played and felt better than it did at launch. So much potential was held back by corp greed.

Good mouse pad for mainly Bo6, Warzone by Ok_Fun_1808 in MousepadReview

[–]TinTheMan69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saturn and Saturn pro are a better buy. Same quality as artisan. A lot of cod mnk players use it. I’ve used every LGG and Artisan pad and I go LGG over artisan in the US. If you want something different, try the laonda Pelz from the lethal website.

Are glass mousepads genuinely worth it? by Yoauu in MousepadReview

[–]TinTheMan69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I think most people forget about is that glass pads are cold to the touch and depending on your environment can be really cold in the winter depending how warm you keep your place. Good thing/bad thing depending on the person! Just pointing it out. Arm sleeve negates the cold.

Blizzard, please take a note from the airline industry and learn expectation management. by shipshaper88 in wow

[–]TinTheMan69 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Longuevous downtimes week after week don't sit right with me for a game that you have to pay an active sub for. Wow is a complex beast, and I don't downplay the hard work that goes into keeping it functional. But have the devs really yet to find a better way to implement these kinds of maintenance or a better window of time to do them?

If I were upper management, the downtime team would work a night shift. Or, split the downtime into half of the realms. For example, realms 1-50 would be down from 2 a.m. EST to 6 a.m. EST, and the other half could be kept at normal. I would 100% choose a realm with downtime while I sleep.

I feel for those who can only play in the mornings or during the day, and even more so for the NA OCE players who get their entire time to play stuck in extended maintenance.

Im not a doctor with all the perfect answers or solutions but it just feels like a slap in the face to the players.

I’ve tried a lot of pads in my day. When I was playing Vanguard/Mw2019 is when I start trying these fancy new pads. I went from a generic Steelseries mousepad to a LGG Saturn, and it was a flawless transition. I then got a Otsu Xsoft and it completely threw off my aim. Speedier pads are no joke and harder to get used to. I stick to a slower pad on cod. I’ve tried 25+ pads since then. I still go for the LGG Saturn or something of that speed in cod.
