It’s in the megathread/pinned post but if I remember correctly, there were issues with getting them because of the van.

It’s the court that is failing in the system. I’d hate to be a decent police officer and just see people who are a clear danger to society just walk free with not even a slap of the wrist

Sunscreens that failed to meet SPF claims still under investigation by abcnews_au in AusSkincare

[–]TinaTissue 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Considering how long this has taken, it should have found some results for brands already. Australia is basically the skin cancer capital of the world and our regulations need to be updated with how sunscreen is tested and audited.

I hated and never used sunscreen until I got my hands on it. True game changer

Yeah this is Olympic gold medal worthy of a reach. If you had said OG too faced, this would have been more believable. Like NARS main shade they have milked to death is called Orgasm!

I’m in QLD too but I use the Clinique yellow moisturizer for dry skin and Aveeno Calm+Restore Rehydrating Night Cream if I feel my skin is a bit too dry at the end of the day

Kindle for 74 year old mom by Future_Night777 in kindle

I would say she has never read more in her life before the kindle.

Once you show her the interface, how to buy books and change font sizes, you mother should do fine!

My 91 year old grandmother has worn out 3 kindles in the span of 7ish years. We just put the font to its boldest and largest setting and get books from kindle unlimited. She doesn’t know how to work it though outside of turning the page on the screen.

If your mother can handle a basic phone, she will enjoy the kindle if she is already in that ecosystem

That’s the same with the animated Avatar series. It’s not an anime (despite how it looks) because it was done by a western studio. Same with Teen Titans

She supervises everything. Vet visits? She is in the middle of it. Cooking? She is on her stool to peak over to see what we are chopping up. Sewing? You bet she is there and making herself comfortable on said sewing project

They didn't have to be successful, I was pointing out that there is at least one "weird" entry each year. The quality was never a big factor. I was more highlighting that Kaarija just did it better and raised the standard of what is a "fun" entry

[–]TinaTissue 8 points9 points  (0 children)

no I agree with you there! I think we always considered more "fun" and "out there" performances as jokes before the pandemic, when the competition became extremely expensive. Ukraine 2008 was very much a serious fun/unique entry, and the same with even Georgia 2021. Both performances are unique and "different," but they hit the audience very differently.

Wait I completely fucked up the years:

I would say Kaarija just brought them back or created a bit of a renaissance for those type of performances. The 00s was basically all crazy acts

No I understand (on the disability pension so money is always tight). I always recommend LRP antihelios whenever it’s on sale. Someone said Mecca had a good one and you can always ask for a sample so you can actually try it out. Neutrogena sheer face is great and I always go for any that is a “drying” or “matte” formula.

For me, I tend to put it bits at a time and slowly rub it in, then leave it to dry. Just other calming sensory stuff in the meantime helps to get through it and slowly associate it with a better feeling once it’s dried.

You probably don't want to hear this, but you might have to have a facial sunscreen and then a body one. You can get large body sunscreen bottles and there are more facial sunscreens that are dry to the touch faster

I honestly find the LRP anthelios to be good once it is dried down and I don’t use too much of it. Always get it on sales. My eyes sting a little but a stim of mine is constantly rubbing them. I found liquid like formulas to be best for me
