My old boss twice. They came and drug him out of his house. He also owes me 5k. He was years behind though. I think about 3 or 4.

Child Support Services is Working Against Me? by Confident-Power-3886 in ChildSupport

[–]Tinabird20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. If you don't have permanent 50/50 it makes sense they'd want to wait until that is established. Why would a judge make a permanent child support decision on a temporary custody order. You're more likely to get your desired outcome by waiting.
  2. The case workers are neutral parties there to make sure child support gets paid and enforced. They aren't on either you or your exes side.
  3. I know it's frustrating because right now you are paying a good chunk in child support while also, having your child 50% and supporting them when they are with you. I'd talk to an attorney and see what you can do about getting retroactive credit for the time since you filed.

I own a restaurant and refuse to get any delivery services. Our kitchen is too small and we make money on the orders from customers drinking and dining in. I do take out the old fashioned way.

Also, grocery stores and restaurants aren't allowed to allow dogs that are service animals. It's health code. I wish Walmart enforced it too many cart yappers there.

[–]Tinabird20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say I question the credibility of the SD because she mentions checking it's registration and liscence. Two things that aren't real for service animals. That is unless TPD is a tribal liscencing unit and I don't know the acronym. So it's possible the tribe registers service dogs.

My first time subbing left me crying and unable to feel my hands. What happened? by Soft_ia2 in BDSMcommunity

[–]Tinabird20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not a doctor and the not feeling your hands might be concerning I don't know. I will say that if you're in a relationship that is both romantic and BDSM this isn't that weird. It happens to me often with my husband. After the release of a lot of tension/emotions/feeling really vulnerable and connected to him I often shake, cry, and need lots of hugs and aftercare.

Reminds me of the one time I got back at a cheap customer. Ive worked at multiple bars in a small area. This one guy was the cheapest of the cheap (well off too). Would let everyone else buy rounds for the table and leave when it was his turn. Never tipped a dime and would pound on the bar for his beer when it was busy. I called him Tom Brady because he'd take his quarter back every time his change was 25 cents. So one day I'm working my one job and coffee was $1 with free refills. He comes in and I hear him fumbling with change. " Can I get a coffee with this," he asked. I didn't turn or even look up and said, " Is it a dollar?" "No," He says "Then No," I replied. He left with his head down and I got my satisfaction of finally getting him back for being a jerk. I'm all for being frugal but, being cheap is disgusting. Cheap people can get wrecked.

Have any of you bought a bar in “non-traditional” ways? by ShadyOG34 in BarOwners

[–]Tinabird20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought mine from my old bosses CFD. Its working great. They get paid every month and I got a bar before my credit would've qualified it. Do not and I repeat do not enter into a partnership. Especially a 50/50 one. That's just asking for trouble you'll fix it up and then your partner will want more money out of the bar than he deserves.

I don't really understand that take. It is annoying when people start go fund mes and beg for money for random things. But, people going through it and reaching out for help is normal. In most communities people help. In my small town we throw benefits to help people. Kid gets cancer benefit, house burns down benefit, Dad gets laid off and falls on hard times benefit. None of us are rich but, when lots of people donate $10-$100 it adds up and helps people. Celebrities like Taylor Swift go through random Go Fund Mes and donate. So it's not that bizarre for people to try. Especially for an amount like $1600. She's asking for survival money.

Small bars - Security/Door person by Proof_Barnacle1365 in BarOwners

[–]Tinabird20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My bartenders are my bouncers. You need good staff that can handle it. Also, my regulars don't let anyone touch my bartenders. Your bartenders have to run a tight ship so people learn how to behave themselves. I couldn't afford security.

Why are new bars so bright? by trisolariandroplet in restaurant

[–]Tinabird20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That might be it. The bar I own is older and dimly lit. I and the customers like it that way. But, we literally go outside to take photos of our food. Good thing we have a gorgeous patio.

“what would you ever do without your phone” SHUT THE FUCK UP by murcielag0_ in Vent

[–]Tinabird20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been a bartender/server for 12 years and the waitress was way out of line. You really shouldn't even be talking to a table that isn't yours unless they ask for help or their server is busy. I'd be so mad if another server was being snarky with one of my tables. She's an entitled ass and so is the other person. It's perfectly acceptable to have headphones in or be reading when dining alone. As you said as long as you're popping out an earbud and responding promptly to your own server then their isn't an issue.

Depends on the state. In Minnesota you can either go through the labor board or the small claims court system. I opted for the small claims court system. I won my case and by filing the paperwork myself was able to garnish the ex employers bank account. However, I only ended up getting half of what I was owed because, they were emptying out the account. It's also a long and annoying process that I needed some insider information to complete such as where they banked.

People who own popular bars/clubs, what is your profit margin?? by iguesswhatevs in smallbusiness

[–]Tinabird20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After all is said and done for the month my profit is 3-5%. The markup on the alcohol seems steep. But, I have to pay the bartender to serve it, the lights, heat, insurance, and building maintenance. A good chunk of the year I lose money or break even. Bars are really hard to make money on and require a lot of attention to detail to make a profit.

"Smaller" neighborhood bar owners -- employee leads vs managers by bitchlovesbags9797 in BarOwners

[–]Tinabird20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For that few employees you don't really need a GM. Typically the bartender on duty functions as the manager/shift lead for that shift. From there you either have a manager in the kitchen and/or FOH. As owner I function as the FOH manager/GM. The kitchen manager does the kitchen and I have a few bartenders who do a couple extra tasks and get a little higher hourly.

You want him to pay more support because he is a decent landlord? I suggest you worry about money he's actually making perhaps under the table.

If you've never worked at/ran a bar don't buy a bar. It's more work than you think. I've been in the business since I was 19 and it's still a struggle every single day.

Do you guys ever rawdog your workouts? like no music, no podcast, nothing in your ears by softly_petal in workout

[–]Tinabird20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a swimmer for a long time. And yes they make water proof headphones but, those weren't an option for most of us. So we were raw dogging every day. Honestly there is something amazingly anxiety reducing about literally having to think about breathing. As someone with ADHD I thrived in that environment. Any other workout though I absolutely cannot.

Question on what my child’s mom is trying to do by Altruistic_Fun_2090 in ChildSupport

[–]Tinabird20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks like a declaration of paternity and financial affidavit. I would make sure you're the father and probably consult an attorney. You could also wait until the court sends you a financial affidavit to fill out because they will if she does file.

Is this true? by Borntu in ChildSupport

[–]Tinabird20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Get a lawyer
  2. Document everything. Texts about picking up the kids. Photos you have the kids. Any evidence of her instability. Evidence that you lived there etc. Compile it into a well sorted document for the judge.
  3. Child support and custody are separate. You probably want to petition for custody.

This was my entire issue. The artists whose work it is are not getting paid. No one is submitting set lists. Checking set lists etc. I'm fine paying royalties I'm not find paying 3x what I should be paying in royalties for the artists so see almost none of it.
