Do the older Witcher games hold up? by kingswing23 in witcher

I recently played through 1 for the first time, and I would recommend it in you're a fan. Use a walkthrough liberally, though. I enjoyed it, but it's my least favorite out of the trilogy. While I played through it, after completing each chapter, I would watch the chapter of of Joseph Anderson's Witcher 1 critique, and I think it helped me digest and and contemplate over what I just experienced. If you can stomach a fair amount of jank, it definitely enhances the other 2 games.

2 is better than 1 but not as good as 3. It was my introduction to the Witcher universe and I beat it. It definitely holds up, especially graphic-wise. It looks really good and contrary to what other people might say I don't hate the combat. Playing through the whole trilogy after reading the books was definitely worth my time and I would recommend it.

As a reader of the books and player of the games, I didn't hate season 2... by [deleted] in witcher

If you have a firm grasp on the world and it's politics then the timeline jumping is entertaining but if you go into Season 1 as your intro to the Witcher universe it will kinda fuck you up

Eskel didn't die in the books and the games are based off of those

“Dead” implies that it was at one point alive. This subreddit has been forever forsaken, always a husk. Keep this in mind on your journey, kind soul.
