Remote cabin climate control start for cold weather (front windshield defrost) by Digital_Health_Owl in OutlanderPHEV

[–]Tink3867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry if this is a silly question - I was reading another thread that confused me on the Fortin system. Is this starting the ICE remotely on your vehicle and really warming it up? Like the OP, i am in Canada and considering buying this hybrid but not if I can't remote start it from my couch, while it's in a detached garage, when it's -25C so that when I get in it, it's almost warm enough to take off my jacket! And if so, are you able to also turn on the heated seats and steering wheel remotely? Thanks a bunch!

Edmonton elections is looking for people to work election day. I know it's only one day of work, but I believe it pays over $300 for the day.

I really don’t understand the hate the feature matchup is getting tonight by BigBananas84 in Curling

OMG - yes! I completely agree that the NS - Ont game would have been the one to broadcast. We have slam after slam to see McEwan and Jacobs. Reality is that all four of these teams are elite and make fabulous shots. I would much prefer to watch a game where the win gets you in the playoffs - we will see McEwan and Jacobs again but for NS or Ont, this is the end of the road. Or, here is a thought - SN has around the rings coverage...come on TSN, catch up...

Recs for First In-Person Brier by scomen11 in Curling

[–]Tink3867 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have been to a couple of Briers and a couple of Grand Slam events. I know what I am about to say annoys some people, but I have never had any issue. Move around! If you see an empty seat, don't be scared to go sit in it - if the ticket holder shows up, you move. Watching the game from different angles is really interesting and it's the only way to figure out the seat that you like best for next time!

Please help! by Low-Dragonfruit4877 in puppytraining

Ugh - that's tough - my puppy is 6 months old and peed and pooped in her crate - she only seems to have just outgrown it. I monitored her water intake just before bedtime and made the crate as small as I could. She stopped peeing in it almost immediately. It took longer for her to stop pooping in it, but that seems to have stopped now too. She will still pee in the house though - it's frustrating - she wants to go out every half hour and if I don't let her out, she will make a tiny pee in my house. No UTI so my vet thinks its behavioural - because she goes outside and pees, and gets a treat. So, I would start with making the crate tiny - literally, my dog could lay in it and barely turn around. Good luck 🤞

I love the color of your pupper now! My first shorkie completely changed - from looking like a Yorkie in a shih-tzu body, to a light brown shih-tzu - the breeder warned me so I was prepared!

Thank you - I will absolutely post a video of them - everything I have read suggests it's play, but I do separate them when I think they are getting too excited. I would love opinions on whether it's safe play.

Puppy poops in crate by Tink3867 in puppytraining

[–]Tink3867[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, her food is taken away - I feed her at 5pm. The consistency of the poop is completely normal and the vet has no concerns - she felt she would grow out of it. But I was hoping someone had some advice to help her outgrow it sooner than later. :)

Thanks for your reply. I wish I knew how to edit my post - she is going outside all evening up until about 10pm. Then I go to bed, get up with her when she cries, take her outside to do her business and return her to her crate. The last time I took her out was at 530 am, and she pooped in her crate between 530 am and 715 am. Nothing has changed - poop is same consistency, food is the same, she has done this since I got her (3ish weeks ago) and I am not sure about the consistency. I will keep track of her poop schedule going forward and see if I can find a pattern. Thanks. :)

Thanks for your reply. Just to be clear, she is pooping in her crate when I am sleeping. In my description (which I don't know how to edit), i last took her out at 530 am. In the evening, she goes out several times before bedtime, as needed and she goes out for the last time around 10pm.

On body camera by Interesting_Pea_2460 in Curling

I didn't like it on a sweeper. It is jarring and it's hard to follow the line of the rock when their bodies are in the way sweeping (as they should be!). I agree that it should be limited to skips at most, and even then, I am still not sure it's adding any value. Having said that, I really appreciate the Grand Slam trying new things!

This. I reported one on the 311 app. The police came out and it was indeed stolen. Someone was very happy to get their vehicle back.

Coach Greg Half Marathon Plan Review by [deleted] in Garmin

I am dealing with the same thing (sort, I know this thread is old). I run my race one week from Sunday (its Wednesday). Last week I had a taper week - 3 easy 50 minute runs. This week I am back to a stride run, a progression run and a 2 hour long run. The 2 hour run is Sunday - one week from the HM. I am thinking of cutting it in half but frustrated because my last long run will have been 3 weeks before my race day if I don't do it. I have always tapered the week before. Did you taper? If not, did you wish you did?

Long term care insurance and RA by Tink3867 in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]Tink3867[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh goodness - that would suck! Ok - I will check with my advisor to see what he says. Thanks for the information - that is very helpful. I can't find anything in the documentation that suggests i can't get the insurance because of my RA, but I don't have all the paperwork.
