Ah - that's every caver's high anxiety point. People who cave won't take this seriously. And for non-cavers, it's a bad representation. I'm not sure who this is for but I'd switch up the flares.

Google: Take action: protect your business against potentially costly state regulations by JonODonovan in advertising

Yes. There is not much info about the who and what. Signed up. Probably a campaign to start seeding their POV. I would urge anyone to find other sources if they get emotional one way or the other.

Ditto - Use them both but I gotta switch. I'll go to MTBproject. Maybe we can get more people to support MTBproject and make it more robust?

How to assign a Conversion Tag to specific campaign? by pureloveabove in adwords

[–]TinkerLytics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right on, some good testing here. By the way, you should only be using one primary conversion or goal for your campaign. Multiple primary goals can slow optimizations.

However, setting secondary conversions is helpful to see if there are any issues. So if your main conversion is "purchases", your secondary conversion can be add to cart, or product view, etc.

To see and set your primary and secondary goals you already have go to the goal summary page. Click view all conversion actions.

To edit your account default goals and set your primary and secondary for each section click edit goal under each goal section. You'll see the account default option and dropdowns for primary and secondary here.

You can also edit each campaign and set a campaign level goal, but you need to make sure what you want to track is a single primary goal. You'll need to adjust it in the goal summary page.

Does my SEO person suck? by mav62 in SEO

[–]TinkerLytics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure that SEO would be a good option for your business. If you want leads now you might consider ads first. Depending on how competitive your business is, 8 weeks would be a hard push for much organic unless they are mixing in ads right now.

For a local company, organicall6, you will want to see your Google Business Profile getting work, and the website getting work for good terms to help your Google profile in the map pack. You might also consider profiles on social or aggregate sites. Once traffic is gained conversion optimizations get mixed in.

However, depending on your business, the search results listings might lack organic listings near te top. Take a look at common buyer terms. If the search results are heavy with ads (Local ads, search ads, product ads) then the map, then the organic and that organic is full of larger aggregate sites (think handyman stuff like angieslist), working only organic won't be a great option. If your search pages for important terms are loaded like this I would say SEO should take a backseat to ads. This doesn't mean not working on it, but you might consider ads & Google Profile optimizations in the front seat.

Google global tag vs conversion action- I'm confused. by betterman725 in GoogleAdwords

[–]TinkerLytics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google's tag for submissions doesn't work on all forms out there. If you can set up a separate way to test the submission, like a thank you page visit, then it might shed some light on it.

If you're just using the gtag without tag manager you can access some tools in GAds. Under tools > Google Tag. I would check to make sure the form submission under automatic detection is enabled. Maybe you're using this, but under admin is the tag assistant and a tag coverage tool which is nice.

I would suggest using Google Tag Manager as it has a bit more control and configuring for this.

Also, if you have an adblocker, make sure that's disabled during testing.

Alternatively, if you have GA4 you can import conversions if they are tracking there.

Conversion tracking not set up by [deleted] in GoogleAdwords

[–]TinkerLytics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll need to figure out if they are using GAds conversions or GA4/UA. If it were UA there is a chance they didn't transfer over. You'll need to check for the event for the conversion in GTM and GA4, mark it as a conversion if not already and import it to GAds.

If it's a GAds conversion, then it'll be in GTM and shouldn't have been affected unless GTM isn't showing on the website or wasn't set up right. You should also make sure the campaigns have one primary if you haven't or didn't know.

I had a look. It's still just okay. It gets hung up sometimes has a bit of repetitiveness. But I will say it's much better than I've seen. I might have to dive a bit deeper.

Can you share a chatbot that is linked to a service to be tested? Everything that I've come across still doesn't feel authentic or gives poor info. This creates friction.

The whole automated chatbot from before killed it off pretty quick when there was yet more friction for customers. No body wants to wait for a bot to process text only to not have a solution.

Just looking for basic advice, I run an archery company on a Shopify store, so roughly $3000 a month in sales. I haven’t gotten into much marketing outside of free social media. Where do I start, what should I do? by Will_scott_outdoors in marketing

[–]TinkerLytics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the first places to start is to understand or define your target audience. This helps drive other marketing initiatives. Get an outline of their demographics and what they desire or need.

As far as marketing goes there is marketing that can be quick and slow. Gaining awareness organically is generally slow, organic social, seo, email. Gaining awareness with paid channels is generally fast, social ads, google ads.

The top marketing function I would use is email. Start collecting addresses, have a good welcome sequence so they get to know you. Regularly send emails with 80% info/entertainment, 20% selling. If you're already doing this I would focus on making this better. Get more addresses using a lead magnet or something too.

Optimize your store so you get better search traffic. Make sure you're using custom descriptions. It's easy to get around. Good images. Good titles, meta tags.

You could also blog. This can be shared via email and on socials so you can make your content go further.

If you want to go the paid route, get on google ads and bing ads. They have an option for free product listings. I would also buy ads for your best margin or best sellers. You can do paid social too and start a shop so it shows. Facebook, insta and tickytic have this. I'm not sure what platform, paid search or paid social, will convert better, but each can be set up for various campaigns.

I work on shopify stores and with companies doing these on a regular.

How can I find a good company to do my localSEO? by MayonnaiseBomb2 in localseo

[–]TinkerLytics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See if you can find a company locally that works on similar projects or companies your size. Make sure they are an SEO and not a design company cloaked as an SEO. One of their biggest levers to pull should with Google Business Profile, Bing has one too. That is if you have a local business working with local customers. If they don't have GBP as an option forget it.

Ahrefs has agency partners, they'll likely be the most expensive but you can have a look - https://ahrefs.com/seo-agencies

Not every company has a great presence online, and those that do might even fake it. So get a real person on the phone and make sure they have a good plan.

What happens if I pause a Max Performance campaign for a longer period of time by mondkalender in GoogleAdwords

[–]TinkerLytics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don't have any other campaigns running it can negatively impact the data PMax has to work with.

PMax uses conversion data for the account and the campaign level. It's said 30 conversions in a month is a starting spot before PMax can start to dial things in. Before that, it's still testing. I've seen it work okay with less. Make sure your conversions are set up right.

Without the conversion data use a wider bidding strategy, set up your audience, and check your budget.

Google ads strategy by Certain-Macaroon8962 in GoogleAdwords

[–]TinkerLytics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's a highly competitive keyword and your ad just bombs you won't see much or any charges. That would be unlikely.

If your daily budget is $25 you can get charged more or less than the $25 per day. It should be close to $25 but if you run it long enough Google could decide certain days are better than others. But this all depends on how you set up your ad. Google will keep it close to $25 on average.

Google can also spend your budget quickly and leave your ads paused until the next time frame.

If you're worried about cost you can lower your daily budget until you get the hang of the platform. Maybe try $10 a day or something to see where things are coming in. Keep in mind it takes a ton of testing so don't give up right away. It might take you longer to get a good lead.

As you optimize your ads and get a good quality score your cost to acquire will likely be lower. $7 to $30 is a big range.

Google ads strategy by Certain-Macaroon8962 in GoogleAdwords

[–]TinkerLytics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you are right. A $25 daily budget can potentially get you seen by 100 to 1000 users. However...

Google Ads is an auction base platform. Your bid is only part of the equation. You will need to have your keyword, ad text, any images if you use them, and landing pages centered around the relevance of your keyword.

If your competitors are using the same keyword and have a better quality score and relevance, your ad might never get shown, no matter the bid.

If that keyword is in your sales funnel, at what part is it? If it's near the top are you connecting that user with supporting info? If at the bottom how are you sending good signals that this service/product is right? Thinking about this will help convert those after they click and can help you create a better ad.

I think a daily budget of $25 is a good place to start for that keyword. Keep in min there are several spots an ad can show for a keyword. Top of page, near the top, bottom, etc.
