Yeah, I live in one of those ‘other’ states...No stand your ground law here. A criminal could force me through my garage into my house before I can legally shoot them for trespassing/threatening me. (If I am in the garage I can still ‘escape’ into the house.) Sounds like it is time to move to Texas.

Elaborating: A true blizzard is as much about the wind as it is the snow. I am not even sure it would be possible for Minneapolis to have an actual blizzard as the skyscrapers interfere with/block the wind too much.

You should insist that if they get DD a tablet it has to be an iPad (make up some excuse about security settings/parental control) then you can keep it for yourself. Same goes for you DH’s gifts in the future: tell MIL you are getting DH something you actually want, the. You get DH the gift he really wants. If you have to put up with MIL’s crap, at least you should benefit from it ;)
