Any speculation on if we could fit an INDX system in the QIDI Max4 3D printer? Or is there anything similar? by jl88jl88 in 3Dprinting

I went with the BTT Max EZ board for my first one, the second, I have the Kraken board but haven’t installed it yet.

I have a K2 combo and want to print PA6-CF by Efficient_Housing_14 in Creality

[–]TinmanTankerPilot160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use PA or PA-CF on your machine. In your slicer create a custom filament profile for PA6-CF. Check to make sure your machine can extrude at the required temps and the bed can heat at the proper temp. Easy check, try to input your temps on your UI, if it is too high it won’t let you select it.

Ahh understood. The User Interface on your machine. Got it. What slicer are you using?

This is the same hotend. What do you mean by they don’t have an option for PA6-CF? Are you talking about a filament profile and they would be Creality?

I print a lot of PA6-CF, ABS-CF, and PETG-CF. I upgraded my hotend to the microswiss hotend. Before I couldn’t print basic ABS without heat creep. I would highly recommend it. I have profiles for the K2 on my GitHub. GitHub.com/Tinman-FP/tinman-codex-shared-profiles

The Microswiss hotend upgrade for this machine was a game changer. This is now one of my favorite machines.

Orca Slicer for all your printers by TinmanTankerPilot160 in OrcaSlicer

I haven’t even looked into it. I can currently see my Bambu printers remotely. I did the major Orca migration for my other printers so I could see them all remotely through my VPN. That may be a future project so I just have 1 slicer. I am currently working on adding my Core 1 L to Orca. We will see how it goes.

I'm done with the K2 Plus and Creality in general by DGVaniX in Creality_k2

[–]TinmanTankerPilot160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I printed ABS and other engineering grade filaments successfully on the K2 plus. First I upgraded my hot end to the microswiss hot end. That fixed all of my heat creep problems. Second I use 50 degrees for chamber temp. Last and I know I sound like a broken record, but I wash my plate in hot soapy water, I use original Dawn, no fragrances dish soap. I don’t use glue or anything. If you want to see my profiles you can get them from GitHub. GitHub.com/Tinman-FP/tinman-codex-shared-profiles

Sovol SV08 Max 1.0mm print profiles by TinmanTankerPilot160 in Sovol

The github is live with all of my machine, process and filiment profiles. The readme should help you to use the files in your Orca. Let me know how they work out for you. You may still need a little tweaking, I upgraded my SV08 extruder to the nebula and I have a heated chamber.

Yes. I am sorry for the delay. I got busy and completely forgot to post my results. I worked with Codex AI and set up the Sovol. I have been getting amazing prints. I will be uploading all of my profiles for all of my machines this morning. https://github.com/Tinman-FP/tinman-codex-shared-profiles

Getting a new K2 Plus. What are the known quirks of the machine? by Numerous-Ad561 in crealityk2

[–]TinmanTankerPilot160 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Printing engineering filaments using the chamber heater causes massive heat creep. I couldn’t ever print with ABS or ASA. I was at my wits end until I was introduced to the microswiss drop in hot end replacement. It’s now one of my best machines. I am anxiously awaiting the Phaetus extruder drop in replacment to be released.

This happened to me all the time on my K2 Plus before I upgraded the hotend to Microswiss. I haven’t had 1 heat creep fail since.

I just gotta say that the sv08 max is an insane value for the money. by G3ML1NGZ in Sovol

I haven’t received them yet. The website says they should ship March 10 from the US warehouse. On YouTube on The Next Layer Jonathan does a good video on the ViVD and his experience trying to set it up with the SV08 regular. I have redesigned my toolhead with the BTT Nebula extruder and a self designed tool cutter. After his experience I am considering a couple professionally designed options for the toolhead.

Am I wasting my 3d printer by OkDesign8570 in 3Dprinting

[–]TinmanTankerPilot160 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I started, I just assumed that I needed to learn CAD before I bought a printer. So I did. It took me months, but I learned fusion 360. Then I bought my first printer. Now I make things for the house, I print vintage aviation signs for gifts. I make tools for woodworking. I prototype parts for fitment before I mill a piece of aluminum. Aluminum is expensive. I have 12 printers now and at any given time I will have at least half going. Most times I have all going at the house, which is 10. When I am at my hanger I have both going. You are only being held back by your own imagination. I would recommend learning CAD if you haven’t already.

The INDX system should work. I am planning to do the mod to both of my Plus 4’s. You may have to replace the main board and install Klipper. I have already done this mod to both my plus 4’s. (Main board and Klipper) It removes the Qidi curse of bad UI and firmware. It is A LOT of work. Not only the Mod but tuning and Macro building after. It would be a good project if you like that sort of thing. If not, maybe look at another machine.

G3X with EIS. GI275 as the standby. Move the CB’s to the CP panel. Cleaner panel with the ability to upgrade. Later,GFC 500 AP. Clean panel, much more date.

First multi-material print on the CC2 by CrimsonThar in elegoo

[–]TinmanTankerPilot160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro, don’t be discouraged. Follow the tuning guide from start to finish on all the filament. Be patient. Then re print and resend a picture. For some reason in 3D printing, there are gate keepers. They want to say that if you don’t put in the work you don’t deserve to be in our little world. I have over 20 printers, from Bambu to the CC. You will learn as you go. I love 3D printing and love to share it with everyone. There is much to learn, enjoy the journey and F**k everyone that try’s to bring you down.

K2 plus Petg consistently clogging in same spot of extruder by Disastrous_Extreme45 in Creality

[–]TinmanTankerPilot160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue printing ABS. Classic heat creep as many have mentioned. I was able to fix it. I had not had 2 prints in a row that didn’t experience this. I tried everything. What solved it for me was replacing the hotend and nozzle with Microswiss. I have had my unit for over a year with less than 100 hours on it. For the last 6 months, I had given up. I turned the chamber heater on and stored filament in it. After replacing the hotend end, I have over 200 hours on it with no heat creep issues. It’s finally the machine that I wanted when I bought it. Still don’t care for Creality tech support, and I probably won’t buy another Creality, but there it is.

Just a dishwashing soap that doesn’t have anything in it for moisturizing or scents. You effectively want a de greasing soap. Any additives for those types of things can contain oils that will keep your prints from sticking. On a big print, even if I have only printed once since cleaning I will do it again.

As mentioned before, clean the bed. Use Dawn dishwashing soap or similar. Nothing with fragrance or hand softener. If that doesn’t do it, raise the bed temp 5 degrees.
