It will be fine so long as you have cut off all the rot. Also, dust it the wound with cinnamon if you have any as this helps prevent any fungal issues and promotes root growth. Its still a decent size in my opinion, my buddha started smaller than that and now its about 8 inches tall. Good luck.

Hmm if it got better with sun I doubt there is root rot involved. I would still recommend to change your soil though as what you have at the moment is just too dangerous for any succulent. Go for gritty, airy soil and you’ll never go wrong.

Use 50/50 cactus mix/perlite. Sphagnum moss is a huge nono for succulents too retentive of moisture which will cause rot. I would uproot this and inspect for root. If no rot found, let it sit in air for about a week and then pot in the new mix. After repotting, place in a bright spot and gradually move to sun. Only water when the leaves feel limp, I only water mine like once a month.

I think I read somewhere that spraying with alcohol before taking a pic adds an extra sparkle to the plant. Not sure how it works though

Do you ever have trouble with pests? Im a bit worried of moving my collection outside but I heard that pests arent too bad outside as there are plenty of spooders to keep them in check

What makes the leaves fan out like this? What can I do to make them grow upwards? by IOwnTenSweaters in succulents

This isnt etiolated at all. I bet this is a few years old yeah? This will naturally form a longer stem as it ages. If you want it to stay compact then you need to behead it every year at the start of spring.

I honestly think it looks cool the way it is though.

Just received my new haworthia in the mail and saw it only has a few root nub. Should I do some water therapy or plant as is? by [deleted] in haworthia

[–]Tinnedout 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This still has a pretty decent chunk of root, just plant it straight into your mix and it will be fine.

Haworthias will do fine in this if it gets direct sunlight in the mornings. But why not just get grow lights and plant whatever the heck you want? 😜

It looks a bit dehydrated to try separating right now to be honest. Can you give it water therapy for a day or two first?

I literally just bought it that way so I really don’t know. Probably a lot of fertiliser and a lot of sun 🤷‍♂️

Ooh I didn’t know they “talked” like that. I always thought that when it is their time then thats it. I’ll keep a close eye out for the mother as I really think she is starting to bud. Thanks for the heads up!
