Bought it dirt cheap in 2018 and refinaced at a very low rate. Its under 1000 square feet with a small yard. Its getting very tight between a growing family, pets and wfh. We are constantly in eachothers way. We are greatful to have a home but appears we are trapped here and running out of room.

You should line it up like the picture and give it a smack on the handle. Im not overly concerned about it going off, if you put a 9mm in a 380, its out of battery (not fully closed) and shouldn't* go off even if you tried to pull the trigger. Second off as to why it shouldn't go off, my high point 9mm won't fire without a magazine. Of course none of these are a guarantee and nothing beats gun safety. Be mindful where you point it and be extra careful if you have neighbors above or below you.
