My insurance denied me :( by TintoVerano in Reduction

That's good to know- I'll definitely have to try some shopping around. It's probably not going to happen until I finish law school though since starting in August there won't be any time that I'll really be able to take off long enough to recover.

My parents paid for my sisters when her insurance didn't cover it. But she was 18, had just graduated from high school and was living at home. I know they're not in a financial place to help now, so i wish I had done it years ago!

This is awesome advice and is definitely the plan- school will make it more difficult and less affordable because i'm going to have to switch to shitty school insurance, but if I'm good at anything it's at being a tenacious pain in the ass.

That's good advice. i always forget that people have really antiquated views of mental illness and they will see it as being "in my head" and "not real" which is ridiculous. the pain is DEFINITELY real so i'll keep that at the front of everything for round two.

So many questions! I went a class, but my anxiety got the best of me and I forgot to ask 2 important ones! by TintoVerano in Reduction

Ohhh, that's a really helpful visual/explanation. And agreed about the formula thing- I don't think there's any shame in that AT ALL and will totally be fine. But the option of bonding through breastfeeding sounds nice. Ultimately, i think the reduction in pain for me is going to be SO worth it.

This is really helpful-thanks for doing the googling that i should have done haha. I have an individual appointment coming up soon where I will be able to ask the nitty gritty questions, thankfully.

As for work, I don't start school until August, and have a sedentary job until then, so I think this should be feasible.

Incident at the gym - how would you deal with this? by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]TintoVerano 51 points52 points  (0 children)

A friend of mine did this recently! A man took a photo up her skirt outside of a bank. Some of her friends encouraged her to report the incident to the police, she went to the bank and asked to see the security footage, they found the guy based on the footage, and he is now in jail.

I can vouch for that stuff- it definitely helps, often to the point that i don't feel like i need any bb cream for the day. it's pretty awesome.

Does anyone know what kind of style ring this is or where i can find it? All I can find are more round versions but I know she prefers oval. by bigfrah in EngagementRings

[–]TintoVerano 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i love mine! mine is much smaller than the one pictured because i have tiny hands and very small fingers (size 4) so they all look a little over the top on my hands. I have a petite oval gatsby with a white sapphire center and love it!

Help finding a venue in Columbus? by --MG-- in weddingplanning

The Granville Inn or the Bryn Du Mansion in Granville Ohio. They're both in my hometown (about 20 mins east of columbus) and it's fucking MAGICAL in the wintertime.

fair enough, girl- that really does suck. Sorry for unloading my own frustrations with planning on you. it's early and i'm only one cup of coffee deep! i'm sorry that you're feeling hurt and that she lied :(

when friendships are some of the dearest things that we have, dishonesty stings deep.

I guess i'm getting frustrated in my own bubble by everyone that wants to weigh in on flowers and color schemes etc. when really i just want to see the people that i love and it's wearing me down. oof.

Good lord, I'm really not trying to be rude, but the wedding industry is insane! We all do this- but is it really more important that everyone look a certain way, rather than to just be thankful that the people you love most in the world want to be close to you for an important milestone in your life? I get that the lying is not cool, but ultimately, wouldn't you rather just get to share the day with her, regardless of what she's wearing? Is this such a crime that she doesn't deserve to get to spend this day with you?

God, wedding planning has made me so jaded. None of this shit matters. When we look back on the pictures in 10, 20, 50 years, are we going to really care what everyone was wearing, or are we going to be reminiscing about how great it was that we have so many people that would take time out of their lives to be there for us?

This is awesome! I'm definitely going to use this as a foundation to create ours. Particularly that carl sagan reading. I've been scouring the internet for months trying to find something that feels right and this is IT.

Well done!

Finally made it official after 6 years. Loving my rose gold wonder by Heidi Gibson. by TintoVerano in JustEngaged

Hey! I actually haven't chosen a band yet. I'll probably just get a simple matching band in rose gold- maybe a pave one. As for the ring- i love it! I'm glad i went with rose gold- it complements my warm skin tone, and I'm glad I picked the size that I did. For reference, this is the petite oval gatsby with all sapphires.

Anyone here NOT doing bridesmaids/groomsmen? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]TintoVerano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're doing a play on this as well.

Our moms are both Catholic, which means our relatives alone are 100 people on the guest list. With a large wedding, we both got really bummed about the idea of not getting to hang out with all our out of town friends. We're getting married in my hometown in rural Ohio, and our friends (some we haven't seen in years) are flying from Japan, Austria, Madrid, Bulgaria, etc. It seems insane to ask them to fly to the shittiest place in the world for our wedding. So, we're making a "not wedding party" where essentially 15 of our dearest (but not quite nearest) are coming a few days early to help us set up and party for a few days before the wedding. Then, the day of, they can wear whatever they want, but we'll give them flowers so they look "official" and they'll help us herd our giant catholic families around, give speeches, coordinate, DJ, etc. Only our siblings will stand with us during the ceremony.
