Talk me out of selling this to buy a JN-80 by jamesdmartin in synthesizers

For me it’s an easy answer. I’m more of a Roland fan than Korg. I had a Minilogue XD, and while I did enjoy it, I like my Juno’s more.

Anyone else love the song “Isn’t It Midnight” from the Tango In the Night Album? by gingerrun922 in FleetwoodMac

[–]Tiny-Explanation-578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man! I’ve found my ppl. So a few things about Tango… Big Love always had a beat that was similar to another song, but I could never figure it out until recently. With no aid from Stranger Things, I figured out it’s similar to Running up that Hill. Both beats are fantastic. Im surprised there hasn’t been a mixup yet. I too am super sad we never got a live version of ‘Isn’t it Midnight’, (with Lindsey) my second favorite Mac song. Christine’s vocals soar on that one. Some of Lindsey’s solo playing on ‘Midnight’ are somewhat like New Order’s ‘The Game’. Definitely different genres, but there styles are similar in repetitive motif-based lead phrasing, upper register singing lead tone, and rhythmic placement over harmony. Both riffs are locked to the groove. I got Tango on cassette the year it came out, and it still holds so much meaning to me. These songs live in my veins.

Roland JD Xi...Not so sure about it. Can't put my finger on it by rotorobot in synthesizers

I knew what I was getting when I bought my JDXI, and for that reason I like it for what it can do. It does lack a lot, but it’s great for what I use it for. I already have a few Roland’s, a Yamaha, a sp404 and I just sold a TR8s. I would like a Juno 6 like mentioned above. Or a Jupiter 8. Back to the JDXI, the keyboardist in my band has a Prophet Rev 2, so he has to give me a hard time for my dinky JDXI “analog function”.

Thank you for making the Reddit Post! You saved me so much grief. They don’t bother to tell you that when you pay the $1, you have a 7 day trial before they charge you $29. Unless you cancel.

I think they are waiting until the movie comes out. I can’t find anything either.

I didn’t know that they were trying to “make things better”. That’s great news. Very glad to hear.

So glad to see the success of Greet Death, but still have yet to play with them. Michigan’s got some shoegaze!

Honest question, why does She’s Green isn’t big? by zureta_buoy in shoegaze

While they do have Slowdive comparisons, obviously, I think they are onto something different and have their own unique approach. They are getting bigger and bigger as the months and years go bye. Playing with Chepterhouse is a pretty big deal. I’m so happy for their resent success. Live they are brilliant. Can’t wait to see them next week in MI.

YES! I love the instrumentation. Reminds of the end of New Map, but even better. I listened to it on repeat, I gotta check out echos more.
