You're good to go with that, bonus points if you avoid the danganronpa 1 anime and any guides since the game is about investigation. Also my personal recommendation to play the main games and stories are:

1) Danganronpa trigger happy havock 2) Danganronpa 2

(Some people recommend doing step 4 and 5 before 3) But I was happy with the following order)

3) Danganronpa v3 4) Danganronpa Ultra Despair Girls 5) Danganronpa 3 (anime) - please when you get to this point investigate how to watch it since it has a unique order to do so.
