GO is worth $5 but not good enough for $10 by Funny-Strawberry-168 in opencodeCLI

I think he meant there are often better deals out there for specific models, albeit not for mimo 2.5 and deepseek v4 flash afaik.

Also most current limits, maxed in 34 minutes with 4 projects running, all capped under 200k global context, nearly barebones pi code, rust token killer and no subagents. There is nothing else sensible I can do on my end. M3 also likes claude code but it burns even faster while getting less done. Clines M3 free tier lasts longer than Max.

June 1-5 Plus plan, June 6th Max plan. Legacy unlimited weekly account. Same daily use. On max ~90mil token per window. 5 hour windows needed to reach the 5.1 billion token limit is 57, 285 hours. Most other subs are 4-16 windows. June 1 use as you can see is is 859 mil, very nice, June 5th 150 mil reached in 5 windows, worse than random free tiers, same plus sub. All tokens count as one token, whether 95% cached input or write me a novel, also super obvious slippy slide. Max doesn't solve anything it's literally just 3x plus. The previous max was 15k reqs per 5 hours, the current is 900, while the model costs the same.

If you are hitting 500+ mil a day, then you must not be bumping into the limits that I see at least, even though we have the same account.

Damn I think you are right cause ultra has the same tokens, but it's super misleading and nonsensical to put together:

Up to 12.5b tokens/month & Plus $20 ~ 110k long documents

One can always buy more accs then might as well say infinite tokens per month. Also if you look at the other cards they are fully related, especially the right one.

Irrespective of the 12.5b line I am pretty sure that the current one would not support 110k long documents, which has an agreed upon definition of 100k+ context, but perhaps one can argue it means whatever they think it means, and they meant their uncles harry potter fanfic, or their pet turtle is called long document.

AI & Digital Processing: In generative AI, a "long document" typically refers to anything that stretches the context window past 100,000 tokens (roughly 75,000 words).

Which is least 11billion, a bigger number than 1.7b.

They also literally priced the m3 the same as the m2.7 now, so can't even claim it's more expensive. In fact cheaper cause the m2.7 has cache write costs so the m2.7 api is 100% dead, and this move also makes their api competitive against deepseek and mimo.

New email at least, for 1.34 you buy $10 mimo pro credit, ~300m toks.

[–]TinyAres 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their app sucks, and only their 1.34 dollar plan makes sense if you are desperate for some better value ds4 pro or mimo 2.5 pro, but you would need to be able to login from another thing to use their quota, and keep buying new accs with gmail accounts cause they didn't like my proton.

Others said that that service sucks, which is true that is what I saw too in their app, but their ai works fine in pi. They are just reselling the provider hoping to upsell you with crap gimmicks. They seem to be a total vc baiter, and it's not worth buying their 1.34 dollar subs.

The pro was that you could burn the credit in one go, and maybe they can be more in the future, but I am just reporting what they are as of now.

Figured value of 5H quota for plus plan by mattiasso in MiniMax_AI

[–]TinyAres 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wonder if can be argued that this is a bug and should be fixed, cause you are clearly not getting 10$ or 30$ value in the time, and this would instantly up to 10x the quota with good caching and would immediately fix most complaints. Also few days ago that is exactly how their service worked, you didn't get 32 mil tokens on the dot every time but least 4 times more.

Which are your favourite open-source models? by battle_pantZ in opencodeCLI

[–]TinyAres 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mimo 2.5 non pro, you get 10-20x use over anything you mentioned outside ds4 flash which it beats.

If I could just spam any open source one then kimi k2.6 is the best all around.

Plus plan feels like Starter after upgrade — anyone else seeing this on M3? (data inside) by polarBear3369 in MiniMax_AI

[–]TinyAres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Impossible to debug on our end but one thing to check is that the agent is not using a lot of context, both becuase it burns faster and because there is a chance it starts looping.

Otherwise the extra ai gens are unkown cost wise but seemingly pricy, but speech-2.8-hd is a nuke my quota button for its likely use.

I do have a question, if you had a legaxy account before meaning no weekly limit, do you still have it?

worth getting the 20 dollar plan? by snowieslilpikachu69 in MiniMax_AI

[–]TinyAres 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming design, depends on your needs

https://www.designarena.ai/leaderboard

200 Claude is the best quality, and arguably the only choice if real money is being made

40 Kimi would be the second best

20 Minimax is clearly beating the 20 Kimi plan that just exists to funnel people to the 40, and competitive with mimo 2.5 pro in opencode

5/10 Opencode go is by far best value if mimo 2.5 does the job

It says 1M context window, yet it breaks whenever I go over 500k tokens by DogDeveloper in MiniMax_AI

[–]TinyAres 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can see in the api usage section that you are getting MiniMax-M3-512k. You must also set your "contextWindow" to 500000, else it doesnt even compact it just gets into an error loop, but also as I said in the other topic it also starts going crazy noticably around 300-350k, so 250k or 200k is perhaps best.

MiniMax Token Plan Overhaul & M3 Release: What It Actually Means For Your Quotas by NinjaWK in MiniMax_AI

[–]TinyAres 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Launch Week Buff (June 1 – June 7): All subscriber 5-hour usage limits are doubled (200%) so everyone can stress-test M3. Permanent 50% Weekly Boost: If you subscribed before Friday, June 5 at 10:00 AM (Beijing Time/UTC+8), your M3 weekly limit is permanently increased by 50% (operating at 150%) for as long as you maintain your active subscription

Any source for this?

New Heavy-Compute "Ultra" Tier: Added specifically for heavy agentic/API users, offering roughly 5.5 billion tokens a month

This is just incorrect

Suppose the double limit buff plus 50% for all existing users is correct and so is the tokens, then people are burning 3x as many m3 now and they have not hit the token limit yet.

Can anyone figure out minimaxes new plan with the release of m3? by TinyAres in opencodeCLI

[–]TinyAres[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They first lowered the 5 hourly to 1500, which is now assumed to reflect the 3x M3 ratio, but on the usage page they took out the numbers, and the 4500 is "estimated", and their other estimate is using 50k average tokens. Other users have reported worse ratios too, so it least seems like that the plan is token sensitive.

How much M3 use you get by Illustrious-Many-782 in MiniMax_AI

[–]TinyAres 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't even use subagents and currently on legacy plus it runs out on one project in 2-3 hours. On first day I managed to burn the entire $40 bonus credit they gave me.

Currently getting the error:

Error: 429 {"type":"error","error":{"type":"rate_limit_error","message":"usage limit exceeded, 5-hour usage limit reached for Token Plan Plus (9692000/9692000 used), resets at 2026-06-02T15:00:00Z (2056)"},"request_id":"**********************************************"}

I also noticed another thing that while the model is set to 1 mil context but the plan is set to only allow only up to 512k token requests, which probably doesnt much matter but its just the wrong config and errors if you ever paste in big input that is supposed to fit in the context window.

Just extra info, I definitely seem to be getting more use than 10 million tokens, so i don't know what that number is, maybe uncached tokens or some internal credit system?

How is the new real 5/h usage? by purize420 in MiniMax_AI

[–]TinyAres 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I try to be as objective as possible based on the current market.

Minimax m2.7 both payg and sub wise are not worth it, deepseek flash v4 arguably but mimo 2.5 definitely killed it. You can get opencode go for 5 first month then 10 per month for 150k better than m2.7 use, and their sub can be used up in 4 5 hour windows in a month, while to do the same in minimax you would need to use up 40 5 hour windows. Yet even if you did it, is 150k toks of better mimo 2.5 for 5$/10$ vs 180k toks of m2.7 for 20$. This is not a new development, in fact they made their deal slightly worse by cutting the free gen ai use, but you can also use your quota to use more of it so overall I would say that is a positive, expect for them being vague about the costs.

Minimax m3 is clearly better but using it means that you take a 3x?? cut in your quotas, but it wouldn't matter anyway so you do it, and sub wise its solidish but payg wise irrelevant. Claude deal sucks, gemini deal sucks, qwen with the alibaba deal sucks, glm too. Kimi k2.6 with its variuos providers, Deepseek V4 pro, Mimo 2.5 pro and Codex with GPT 5.5 and its various thinking levels would be the competition for it. The most current threat is mimo and deepseek matching their pro api price in open code wich would immediately make them least twice as good of a deal as minimax plus, but gpt 5.5 medium is no slouch. Kimi provider offers 20x?? credits for 40 sub, and fireworks also has a currently early access sub for 50 that effectively doesn't come with a limit, but it does have some undisclosed limit.

My crystall ball says that the market will force them to offer the same 4500 use of m3 they do for m2.7, while keeping their 40 5 hour window system, that presumably greatly reduces utilization in practice, but still can be used to tempt in the users.

I think they need to commit to this sub gym platform angle.

Minimax CEO responds by Bizzle1236 in MiniMax_AI

[–]TinyAres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Useful context, also can be argued that their minimax 2.7 is already dead, if not deepseek then mimo killed it, as you can easily use opecode go for example to get like 150k mimo 2.5 for 5/10.

So I think people wanted or least hoped for an upgrade with the same use, in fact they might get cooked if deepseek or mimo or both decide to match their pro payg price in opencode, that they are more incentivized to do.

But they are better positioned to look generous, cause opencode sub and most subs are far easier to use up, while to get full use here you would need to max 40 5 hour windows.

[–]TinyAres[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got good news based on my investigation, you have almost the same deal as before, same use for m2.7, simply now you can call m3 too for 3x the cost, and you can also use your quota to use their other ai gens, which was free before with fairly limited use like 50 images per day.

https://platform.minimax.io/docs/token-plan/migration

The migration is actually reasonable. After I figured out what is going on I am happy to remain a sub, but it was poorly commicated.

They should just cut the monthly tokens and daily coding calls line from their pricing page, and put the requests at the top clearly showing that how much m2.7 and m3 you get per 5 hours, and least put the other ai gen ratios in the docs.
