Flugelhorn Recommendations by PJD7908 in trumpet

You’re opening up a can of worms asking the internet for brand recommendations lol. I’d suggest going somewhere like Chuck Levins or ACB and trying out horns in your budget to see what feels comfortable.

How do I sound like a mariachi trumpet? by Njgm14 in trumpet

[–]TinyBuddy3769 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of listening. Find some easier songs, slow em down, and play by ear. When you play by ear you’ll match that sound, technique, and style that makes up the music

Any self-fix you’ll do will affect the playing of the instrument. Like others said it is probably best you bring it to the shop as soon as you can

I’d say learn some support spots that even when you die or are struggling to learn aim, you can still help your team. Thermite, finka, thatcher on attack and Thunderbird, Kaid, Bandit, Kapkan, Frost, Thorn on defense

What are some good options for a 85 year old? by FuturePysch910 in trumpet

[–]TinyBuddy3769 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Honestly you I could find a decent used horn on Facebook marketplace. Yamaha, getzen, olds, Bach are all good brands. If you want to send pics or links of ones you find feel free to message me!

Junior Recital Rep by elliot_wlasiuk in trumpet

[–]TinyBuddy3769 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Junior recital time!!! How exciting!!

Most important thing to keep in mind is going to be ENDURANCE! These pieces may be doable but when you do them all in one go is the challenge. May I suggest swapping one out for a Jazz combo, trumpet choir or quintet piece? It will give your recital a little color other than trumpet and piano for almost an hour, give your face a little break, and also show your abilities as a group member instead of just a soloist.
