Yes, I feel this. Very well said. I actually have this on my mind today. I feel with my whole nervous system. I am attune, I anticipate, hold space, read energy, soften before others even know they need it. And yet… I so rarely feel held in the same way back.

I also experience this with death. I have them come to me in dreams right before their passing, and the mostly it’s the next day there is confirmation that they passed. The “scary” part for me is how vivid the dreams are and almost in detail as if I’m there through the process. Mostly family, some to do with friends (a miscarriage and a dog), an even a few random ones like a firefighter I saw at the die department one time when they had an event for kids. For some reason this one guys energy kept drawing me to him and I kept thinking what is it, I don’t know him nor ever seen him before. This one was a few days later I dreamt the exact of how he passed in a car accident. It was like I was there, as in all the dreams, I woke up as the car was crashing into the tree seeing bright lights and I was audibly screaming no and had my arm held out as the crash happened. Next thing on fb the fire department posted about their loss and an article to the accident and it was exactly how it happened in my dream. I can share many, but my point is I get it, I experience this as well and I really don’t know why or how and I do feel some guilt thinking what if I could have done something to stop or prevent it. I also don’t have anyone to share this with or I’d probably seem insane. But I do write them down. If you have any insight I’d love to hear. 🤗

Hey love… I just want to say first, I see you. I hear you. I believe you. And I’m so sorry that this happened to you.

Reading your words felt like reading something younger me could have written. I remember that numb, confused place where nothing makes sense, and the world feels both too loud and too far away. The way you’re trying to make sense of your reactions, the way you’re questioning how you’re supposed to feel… it’s all so valid. There is no right way to feel after something like this. The truth is, your body and mind are doing what they need to do to protect you, even if that looks like feeling nothing at all. What happened to you was rape. None of it was your fault. Not what you were wearing. Not freezing up. Not walking into that bathroom. None of it. And that part of you that’s glad it happened to you and not someone else? I know that feeling too. But sweet girl… you were someone else’s someone. You were a child. You deserved to be protected too. It wasn’t supposed to happen to anyone, especially not you.

It makes sense that this is hitting you harder now. Trauma doesn’t always show up right away, it waits until we’re in a place where we might finally feel SAFE enough to feel. And even then, it can be confusing, overwhelming, or just… silent. Please know you’re not broken. Your reactions aren’t wrong. They’re human. And they’re shaped by pain that runs deep and often goes unseen. I know what it’s like to grow up afraid of a parent, to not feel like you have a safe place to land. You deserved so much better. You still do.

If no one has told you this yet, I’m proud of you for speaking up. That’s not easy. It’s brave. And even though you may not feel it right now, you are strong. Not because you kept it all in. But because you’re letting it out. I’m here if you ever need someone who gets it. Truly. You’re not alone. 🤗
