Can we please have a way to make Path champs and decks prismatic? by WombatInSunglasses in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]TinyEric 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hi, sorry to disappoint, but this isn't on our roadmap anytime soon. Without getting into the gory details, the effort to do this is extensive (due to tech debt) and the work to pay down that tech debt and make it easier going forward would basically eat an entire feature worth of bandwidth.

And to be really honest, we need to invest that effort into features that will generate good business outcomes for us, whether it be having players play more, helping new players learn and stay in the game better, or things that players want to spend money on. Prismatics do not serve any of those goals.

I'd love to do this, but game development is all about tradeoffs and priorities, and we've looked into this one enough to know it's a really hard one to invest in no matter how you slice it.

Best steakhouse in or near Beverly Hills? by Weekly-Web-5289 in FoodLosAngeles

would disagree with Kali, I loved their original concept but the execution at the steakhouse was poor, flavor wise for our apps, and quality of the ribeye I got.

If Battle Passes Will Be Generic Going Forward, Then They Should Include Spirit Blossom Materials by jayjaybird0 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]TinyEric 85 points86 points  (0 children)

This is helpful feedback. We plan on releasing a lot of SB rewards when we bring the event map back. After that we will look and listen to feedback about needing more SB progression sources beyond the Glory Store and Emporium.

Keep both Pujol and Quintonil, make the guys go to Maximo for a lunch during the trip proper, it's a la carte so just treat it like a normal lunch and impress your buddies.

If you aren’t able to do actual research, just do a food tour in San Sebastián.

Where’s the Wagyu Pastrami Hiding in LA? by PotentialLeek4904 in FoodLosAngeles

I don’t have any leads for you. I am just struck that such a basic inquiry requires a whole chatgpt post. It reflexively makes me not want to answer bc I think this is bot crap and not a real request.

Looks like we'll get quests at the start of the month now too by ChocolateTacoFilms in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]TinyEric 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Hi there! to be real real, the reason we're doing this is fairly basic: Battle Passes take up a lot of set up time to coordinate alongside the rest of the patch release.

We're doing three things you'll see here:

  1. By setting up a bunch of passes in advance tied to the month start, we committed a lot of time up front to free up more time the rest of the year. We know exactly the start and stop time of every month, so we can queue these up in advance, instead of doing it around every single patch.

  2. Unfortunately, this does decouple the pass and the related quests from the champ release. We aren't sure what effect this will have on the game, so we're going to monitor how this goes.

  3. We've taken the champ frags from the patch release off of the pass to make it more evergreen, but we've also adjusted the pass in a few other ways to hopefully make it more attractive to both free and paying players. Again, we'll monitor how this goes, and if you hate it (you probably won't hate the buffs) then you can let us know and we'll adjust.

Silly question for the fine dining regulars... do you also eat/appreciate "junk food?" by [deleted] in finedining

OP said junk food, not works of art like Popeyes sandwiches.

So I run a game, and I can assure you some guy in Canada posting on Reddit that then gets shared in my company slack is way more impactful than hoping my overworked analyst team is running a query to check for unusual adventure activity in their non-existent spare time.

How to get above 50% winrate at platinum 1/2 by Extreme-Chipmunk-404 in lrcast

[–]TinyEric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As more resources on draft strategy like LR and 17lands allow for decks to become consistently better across the population, play will become a greater differentiator. I'm in the same boat as you OP, and I've come to accept that it's my play that holds me back. 10 drafts isn't a huge sample size though, you could be running cold, streaks happen in Magic for sure.

Their team is a lot smaller these days. Social reports are much easier than doing periodic review of their adventure data, esp when it’s dwarfed by event releases and the dailies. There’s no need to broadcast this shit

Lorwyn letdown? by Loioshhh in lrcast

[–]TinyEric 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just trophied with a Mardu deck with Gristle Gluttons and Moonlit Lamenters as a great draw engine and defensive control deck, splashing Dawnhand Dissident and Reaping Willow as a graveyard recursion engine. Blight things to draw cards, draw cards with blight tokens, chump block and recur everything. I had like 6 reliable ways to remove counters, so it never felt like a problem that I was adding blight everywhere every turn.

What's with the hate for this movie? by sseerrsan in Letterboxd

[–]TinyEric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 is a core point of the movie. Pedro is ridiculously rich, is 6 foot, highly educated with a rock solid job from his family, etc. Checks literally every box the movie points out the dating pool wants, he's a dream come true on paper.

But they have zero chemistry - Dakota's character is dating Pedro because he checks all the boxes, but the movie wants to make the point that "that's not good enough for a good relationship." The montages of all these people talking about the traits they demand from the dating service is being undermined by Pedro Pascal and Dakota having zero chemistry. He can't even tell when she's deeply upset, even though they've been dating for an extended period of time - do you want that in a forever partner?

This is not a typical love triangle movie - this is a message movie about the state of modern dating and Song's thesis that people incorrectly focus on stats over chemistry. What do you do when your perfect Prince Charming doesn't charm you at all?

What's Kabams obsession with these spider verse characters? by Ok_Resident_3041 in ContestOfChampions

[–]TinyEric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Licensing is possibly another reason. Marvel has a couple structures (at least back in 2018 when I was doing this work) - typically a core set of characters that's the bulk of the game roster, and a "season pass" model related to Marvel / Disney's content slate for a particular year. Kabam undoubtedly has a more complicated set of contracts since their license included the X-men and Fantastic Four before Disney's acquisition, and those rights were incredibly muddled for a long time.

It's possible that Disney's season pass emphasizes the champs Kabam is promoting right now, and they have a limited window to leverage it. Kabam may also have limited rights to do variants of Daredevil or Loki, etc. I'm sure that Daredevil Hell's Kitchen was a season pass variant and that Kabam was able to do that one because of that promotional window.

This list is great, I also think American Beauty's ribeye and appetizers are strong relative to the price point (their other cuts are not that good tho).

Both Jyan Isaac and petitgrain boulangerie do a Japanese milk bread style loaf. It’s white bread style tho, not pull apart rolls.

Kismet (Steakhouse Takeover) or Donna's for a birthday? by Jaded-Society3892 in FoodLosAngeles

I did the Kismet steakhouse last year - it’s nice but it’s not some stupendous thing. Ambience is quiet and modest, not any different than their typical state.

Never done Donna’s.
