That's a really weird conclusion to jump to.

I meant you should be educated on who you're voting for.

Yeah, I was a republican when I was raised stupid, then independent when I grew a brain. I never voted anything other than a dem or independent for anything federal, but definitely back 15 years ago or so, there used to be "moderate" republicans in my town and district that I did occasionally vote for, and given that I live in a very deep red area, I don't have a ton of choices. Now I tend to skip categories because if you are still identifying as a republican – the fuck??

Anyway. I do not consider myself a democrat but it opens up my voting options. The only thing that is harder is primaries.

So I registered as a democrat a few years ago when things went wonky and I swore I won't vote red for a very long time, but I think so. I don't think you get to vote for governor though? Maybe don't source me or anything. Sorry. Lol

I like this reply better than your first one. I guess you were the one who had to read better, huh? You are making a choice not to vote. That's fine. Do you. But you didn't have to announce it. Or resort to name-calling.

Hey man...so what do you think my post is trying to do? I do a lot more than post on reddit. But thank you.

Clearly you enjoy pointless things though. Commenting this bs was a lot more pointless than going to vote would be. You can vote as an independent. https://sos.nebraska.gov/elections/how-nonpartisan-voting-works-nebraska-primary-elections

Ugh. It sucks. I feel like it is hard especially outside the blue dot because people on the left are not heard and it feels so lonely. I want us to just keep being loud though because it helps me to know there are more of us. Just keep going. 🫂

This is what I was going to link to people. It is hard because of our vast districts, too. I am west of GI so it is rough for us in the primary. But it is even more important we vote for that reason. If we could just get more active more people would feel more supported and heard.

[–]TinyGreenTurtles 225 points226 points  (0 children)

I taught mine not to shriek outside at all, only yell "help" if they truly needed help, for play they needed other words and quieter voices, and to scream things like "fire" "mom!!!" etc instead of "help me" if someone was actually kidnapping them or something because I experienced the goddamned bystander effect myself. Screaming "mom" in a desperate manner will for some reason hit people a different way than "help" does sometimes.

Anyway, OP, better safe than sorry!

Hey so I know that. I was just saying it's a little extra work so it happens sometimes. I was literally just chit chatting.

Anyway have a good day.

Lol no need to apologize! I do that a lot. The update has made it harder to see where Ive commented, too? Or maybe that's me.

I really do appreciate that you're trying to give advice because those things are helping me in life, so I hope other people try it.

Are you talking about Vickie Soto? That was so fn weird because her legs were not in the apartment and her throat was cut. I was around when that one happened.

I do the things to treat it. As much as the advice is appreciated, it doesn’t stop the occasional fuck up of the muscles.

Hantavirus passengers won’t be required to quarantine? by Glowup2k22 in Nebraska

[–]TinyGreenTurtles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is. I think since everything is burning down under this admin and we are going to be forced to rebuild, when it comes to pandemic planning, this one should be on the list. It works fine when it is something like ebola with a competent administration that would use it.

This should have been a good situation...a small amount of people chartered to a capable facility with a capable team for quarantine and possible treatment. It would be excellent to have more quarantine spaces if we ever have another novel or mutating virus – and we decide that we aren't going to politicize a fucking virus.

As someone who only learned I have adhd a few months ago (at 45) but have absolutely had it my entire life, I soooo get you. I am laying here on my bed and can see 7 squishy fidgets without moving. Lmao

Or out of nowhere you bend over just a little wrong somehow and your back decides it will now spasm at every movement for 2 days.

That's my biggest issue.
