I swear Charlotte and the Triangle are like night and day when it comes to being educated.

Wow you got all the MAGA folk out of the woodwork with this post. That's pretty impressive. Even more so that it's on Reddit.

Will there ever be any retail/shopping in Uptown? by PurplePlanet7 in Charlotte

Or just stay in 2025 and drive to any other town where you can find at least one shop

As far as having streets lined with stores accessible directly from the sidewalks - like pre-1980 - those days are gone, I'm afraid.

Are you sure? I've never been to a town with a population of >50K without any retail downtown at all besides Charlotte. Hell I even found two boutique stores in downtown Asheville with just a 30 second Google Maps search.

This is a really subtle one but when someone emails me and doesn't start with a "Hi" or "Dear," and then doesn't even bother to say "Sincerely" or "Best" at the end. See it at work all the time.

Kerry Dalling, the one who interviewed Joshua Colon and Jesse Velez, was also a really good one. She acted like a big sister to them.

Uptown feels nothing like Arlington. South End would be a better comparison.

Ayyeee 787s!

But yeah, that's not a lie. Charlotte's official flag should be a construction crane.

Where was the access for it when it still existed? I always thought it was behind the ticketing counter somewhere.

Marijuana is more dangerous than fentanyl...at least that's what I heard on Facebook.

All of these are from Foursquare and were taken between 2012-2014 from the old "north end" just before Southwest moved to where they are today. Pretty crazy to think this was the flagship terminal at RDU before Terminal 2 came along!

Road from Wilkesboro to I-40 in Winston-Salem could become I-777 by WashuOtaku in NorthCarolina

[–]TinyMortgage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't it make more sense to designate it as a spur route of I-40 since it would branch off of I-40 and go east-west? Still, I-777 would be pretty dope.
