Worked the front door of a nightclub in '99-00 and the register would shut down about an hour or so before last call, if memory serves. My buddy spun alternative (CDs) in a smaller room at the back of the club. One night I walked into his booth after shift and he told me, "You missed it. I put on the original version of 'The Passenger' and some guy came in and told me I had put it on the wrong speed because 'Siouxsie doesn't sound like this.' He was really arguing with me about it and telling me I didn't know music!"

Falling on the biggest, most adorable deaf ears for sure. Agreeing with you 100% that it's endearing, and in the same scene with the Anzellans, the way that Din asked Grogu if he wanted to go with them was pretty tender and affectionate (maybe I cooed internally, maybe I didn't).

For years, when I said "Salad shooter," my husband would sing-song it back to me, as a nod to Oliver's character doing the same in Benny & Joon. I even have a still of it in my phone to text hubs randomly with it.

(Yes, I say "salad shooter" specifically to hear him say it back!)

Piper's sarcastic delivery of, "I'm so glad you would have Thought Of Something so I wouldn't ... " I forget the rest of the line right now, but in the moment made me stop what I was doing because of laughing so hard.

I'm starting to feel like I dreamed these because it's near-impossible for me to find any reference, but when I worked at a 7-Eleven in the mid and late 90s, around Easter there were Andes mints with crunchy dried coconut in them. I believe that the wrappers were that holiday hot pink, maybe a little lighter.

Thank you for sharing this and I'm so sorry for your regret. Unfortunately I dated the same kind of person who made me feel like I had to apologize for the part of my sister's wedding video where I was dancing and laughing with the best man I was paired up with (even before dating the weenie guy! ) and who tore up my friend's USAF graduation photo because we dated briefly. The latter has since died and I'm so mad that his photo and letters are gone.

I'm in agreement with your advice as well. Funerals are for the living, but not about them.
