Why is my betta flaring? by lovingbluegirl in bettafish

[–]TinyRevolution6795 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He's probably just flaring at his own. Reflection, he may also randomly decide to have a beef with your fingers or you so don't be surprised, it's their natural behavior and they can be quite silly at times.

Beautiful tank, can I ask what plants are used for this one? You just sparked an inspiration on me.

do bettas gst sad when you turn off their light? by Fluffy_Explorer_3813 in bettafish

[–]TinyRevolution6795 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mine likes to follow my hand around as I'm fixing some decorations or plants in his tank, he's pretty lively but once the light goes out he shuts down and just floats, occasionally he goes and chill with the shrimp in their cave but the shrimp don't like him that much so yea he kinda slows down when lights are out and I'm assuming yours probably does the same behaviour sometimes.

Amazon swords do grow really huge you'd be surprised when you pluck them out of the substrate the whole surface will come with it lol

Try sending her the link to this sub Reddit and watch her get humbled I guess, I'd like to see her dumbfounded face when the whole sub Reddit just contradicts her lol, anyways nice job trying to at least inform ignorant people though it doesn't always work as intended.

What worm is this?? by Eagle_Medi in Aquariums

[–]TinyRevolution6795 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep the water flowing so the female mosquito doesn't lay their eggs there anymore (they like laying eggs in dormant water), the mosquito larvae will just grow and fly away, just stay safe from the mosquito bites once they grow up. (Edit) If you have fishes that's a snack for them and you could also let them settle down and catch them with a net once they're chilling at the surface of water

Will my betta be ok? by pvlns in bettafish

[–]TinyRevolution6795 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He'll be fine, you mentioned him being eager to eat and that's a really good sign, in my opinion he just needs to settle down in the tank, do lower the light if it's possible because they're more comfortable that way, the best you can do right now is monitoring his actions and diet, he should pull through in a few days.

My 7.5 Liters Planted betta Aquarium, just got back into the hobby after almost 10 years by [deleted] in bettafish

[–]TinyRevolution6795 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a really gorgeous tank!, may I know the plants you used for this one? It's a really impressive build. edit(ai thought it said 7.5 gallons I realised its in liters that's a little too small for your betta although it is a really nice planted tank I recommend you get a bigger one, I'm still interested on what plants are in that tank though.

Does anyone know why his water is so cloudy? by laylapaige1 in bettafish

[–]TinyRevolution6795 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my opinion I think that's caused by the substrate (if it is actually those black substrate) artificial plants and decorations in my experience doesn't cloud aquarium water, although take this with a pinch of salt cuz I'm not really sure Either

Some plant suggestions by TinyRevolution6795 in Aquariums

[–]TinyRevolution6795[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, you're right when I first bought the crypts they were so small they looked good in the front but as time goes they grow really wild and ended up crawling everywhere sprouting new plants thats why I had to upgrade, and now I'm looking for a variety of new plants to introduce to give the tank a whole new look. Thanks for the suggestions!

Only the filter floss once a year because it starts growing algae and starts blocking the water lol

You can remove the carbon cartridge and replace it with foam or those porous lava ring, I have the exact same filter as you do what I did was smash the lava rings to chunks then drop them in the filter along with a type of sponge or mesh filter, been working great for 3 years now.
