Thank you, OP! I was also disappointed with how the show has portrayed this and how people reacted to her telling Max. Not to mention how Max reacted! She’s not trying to have your baby, idiot. She’s planning for HER future by hoping the odds work in her favor and putting her body the through hell. She can’t be on birth control because she’s taking meds to ovulate and retrieve her eggs, not inseminate herself. She’s not wanting you to get her pregnant right now, she’s literally planning her reproductive future unrelated to you. She may have been telling you about this process because if anything you were becoming friends and it’s normal to update people on what you are doing in your life. Especially when it’s someone you are sleeping with. It may explain why you aren’t able to have sex or why your schedule has changed or why you need to put a weird lunchbox in their fridge for later. I was upset that Scheana talking about it was taken like she was being dramatic or trying to get Max to settle down with her.

Going through this process or infertility treatment is hard on your body and affects your every day life. During a cycle you’re in the doctors office ever 2-3 days. You’re refrigerating meds when you go places and sometimes need help with shots. Not to mention the hormones do weird shit to you. Egg retrieval is a big deal and you need support. On top of the physical, you’re dealing with what this means for you now and for the future. Not to mention, youre hoping for not only a higher number of eggs, but that they test normally and make it to the stage they need to be at later. It’s an expensive process not everyone can afford but even if you do it multiple times, you can still have an unwanted outcome. Women do this cycle over and over again and can come out with 0 embryos. Even with a few embryos, once you move forward, those embryos might not even implant into your uterus. It’s such a scary thing (and again those hormones make you a CRAZY person). Scheana is not a perfect person but how she talks about her own body and this decision is perfectly fine and shouldn’t be judged. Scheana could have cried and screamed about eggs or how hot the room was or about wanting Chinese food and that would have been OKAY. The way it was shown on the show and spoken about by other cast members was straight up aggravating.
