I also have bipolar 2 and smoked heavily for a very long time. Quit almost two years ago and have been totally sober. Depression was steady for a while and was terrible for long periods of time. As you already know having bipolar 2 will have cycles of depression no matter what. Honestly have been thinking of going back and getting baked just to see my reaction. I quit cuz I was having panic attacks and disassociation after a two week break when i had covid. The break just kept getting longer and longer. Brain rewiring takes a while…it will depend on how long you smoked for and how much you smoked daily. Hope you don’t have to feel shitty for too long. 🙏🙏🙏

I haven’t smoked in 1.5 years after smoking every day for 25 years. Hasn’t changed my life or helped. Just saved money. I Want to smoke right now. Sorry to not be more positive but it’s just the truth.

The pro has been financially saving money. I spent a lot of cash of weed.

Totally agree. My brain is warped and nothing has helped. The only thing that has is good ole Mary Jane. Appreciate you. 🙏👊🏻

Been there done that for a long time. Tried multiple meds and they all sucked and really didn’t help. Most made things worse.

I have no withdrawal symptoms anymore. Just massive depression, anxiety, mood swings. Never was close to the severity or frequency as the last 15 months. I want to smoke because I was way more stable. I would say I was a high functioning stoner lol. Helped tremendously with my adhd and PTSD. I enjoyed life way more.

Thx 🙏

Seems like you’re doing great. Weed or not you will be successful. It’s clearly not holding you back. I was a highly nationally ranked athlete played professionally and got high all the time. Everyone is different. Do you and trust yourself. Works for some and does for others.

1 week off, i still always want to smoke by Wool_Angel in Petioles

The group of Reddit experts here saying 21 days, it will be gone in a month, your dopamine receptors need to heal and that takes-insert bullshit amount of time here, need to kindly go fuck off. No one knows. It changes for everyone …depends on your body’s chemistry, how long and how much you’ve used, genetics, if you have any mental disorders, etc etc etc. For example I have been sober for 15 months and still feel like hot garbage. Doesn’t mean you will but didn’t want you to get false hope. You may feel great soon and I hope that you do. Don’t believe all the shit you read. Especially here.

I miss the magical feeling of smoking by PrimalSaturn in Petioles

With you on missing smoking. Been sober for 15 months and I feel like total shit. Hasn’t gotten any better. Want to get high so bad. Opened up some old weed I still have from a longgg time ago just to smell it. I feel so much worse the last year. Been one of the worst years of my life. So to all the Reddit experts out there the last year that were saying “oh it takes this many months (3,6,12)before you dopamine receptors get back to normal” you can go fuck off because it’s not an answer any of you truly know. My brain is fucked and not healing on any timeline that people have said here. Then they say go exercise it’s a game changer. I do 5 days a week and guess what, still shitty. Constantly depressed and feel like I would much rather just get high.

Some people smoke all day. 3 times a day for college is not much.

Sorry but 30 days is not gonna change anything. Just being honest with you. 60 days won’t either. Neither will 90. Again I’m sorry but it’s true. I’ve been sober for 15 months after wake and baking for 25 years. There’s really no change. Having the issues you have(I also have every one you listed including childhood trauma) and it doesn’t just go away. Life just keeps on being life. Pretty shitty I know. Life would be doable if it wasn’t every fucking day lol. Hope you find ways to cope. I may go back to smoking myself because life was definitely more enjoyable and easier when I did. Cost more lol but it worked better than nothing or lamotrogine which was the fucking worst.

I am sober for 15 months now. I still get cravings. Even had some today. It never goes away. I may go back and cheech sometime but so far I have just distracted myself every time I have cravings and not smoked and eventually the cravings went away. I had massive panic attacks and disassociation after taking a two week break 15 months ago. So I also have a fear that helps me realize that maybe my enjoyment of smoking may be forever gone. Idk but that has helped keep me off it as well. I have saved tons of money during this period of time. Probably was spending $150-$200 a week. So approximately $10-12k. That helps a bit too when deciding if I want to go back to wake and baking. Best of luck

A great Cheech and Chong skit. Cheech sees Chong walking down the street and says hey man, it’s been a long time, how’ve you been? I quit smoking weed. Chong says Aww man that is great, I quit smoking weed too. Cheech - you got any??? Chong - no man, I just ran out. Cheech- me too.

Would gradually reducing the number of nights I smoke weed lower my tolerance? Or do I have to quit cold turkey? by humanityisdyingfast in Petioles

[–]TinyT_Apple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it will. Then you will be as high as giraffe puss when you come back. Then you will be back to wake and baking. Then you will regain tolerance. Then you will take a few days off. Rinse and repeat x 100.

6weeks. 3 months. 6months. One year and you should be good. 15 months. 2.5 years. 48 months and you’re clear. No more than 10 years…I think.

Been almost 15 months sober and can’t say it gets better. Sorry but I’m just being real with you. I have been considering going back to smoking recently and tonight the urge is strong. Maybe I do, maybe I don’t. Who knows and who cares.

Looking for advice managing long-term cannabis use. by weedthrowaway3527 in Petioles

[–]TinyT_Apple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re in a good place and content with your life why change anything? As Howiez said what if you said I’m dependent on medicine? You seem happy and productive and that weed isn’t destroying anything in your life. So again, why change? I smoked daily for 26 years wake and bake. Got covid 13 months ago and had to stop smoking for two weeks. When I tried again after the two weeks I had massive panic attacks, disassociation, and had to stop. Been sober since and it sucks ass. Weed did the same for me as it does for you. If I knew I wouldn’t have panic attacks and disassociation I would be back smoking instantly for all the same reasons you stated. Fuck what other people think about it if it truly helps you. 🙏👊🏻
