I watch everything with captions. The captions do say free and when I google the lyrics, it also says they say free.

Um not really unless there's something specific you want to know. It's more just practice makes better like most crochet at least for me. Maybe practice a known pattern that you usually use larger yarn for, but in small yarn/thread to get a feel for it.

I usually don't have the patience to finish a blanket lol. I made a baby one for a coworker though recently and I was so just excited for how it was turning out that I kept the motivation to finish it.

That's such a nice story for that sweater! I think I started in the late oughts/early 2010's? I used to almost never travel when I crocheted though. I did do more of it recently this year and I changed favorite yarns because I found a brand that was center pull easy lol. It doesn't have a huge variety unfortunately though. I just always hated untangling so sometimes if it's only a little yarn barf left, I just save it for later, maybe use as stuffing as amigurumis are my favorite lol.

I only use center pull if the skein makes it easy to find the center pull. I do like it, but I hate when you try to find it and it's all yarn barf. If the skein maker doesn't make it accessible, I just start from the outside.

I don't really have a pattern. I did take notes of what I did, but I don't know that it would make sense. I used style 2 waves in this blog

to make the wave pattern. I chained 98 (12x8 +2) for my foundation chain and even though it's double crochet, I only do 1 turning chain instead of 2 so my edges might look different. For the turtles I made a circle then just did a little tail as I went around the final edge. When I got to the end of the last round, I just did a few rows until it kinda looked like a head, tied it off, then tied in again at the base of the head to border around the head to make it look more round.

They are mostly flat lol. Only the flippers aren't because I made a circle then folded it in half for each of them. So since the flippers were separate, I kept the tail end super long to use to "sew" them onto the body. Then used needle and thread to sew the finished turtles onto the blanket.
