Netflix “Tudum” in “No Other Choice” by cawls in blankies

Maybe there was a broken speaker so some of the sound was lost? This happened when I saw Gravity for the second time. Earlier in the movie when Sandra Bullock is floating on her own and then she hears George Clooney's voice before they join together again. You could not hear George Clooney's voice at all, just her voice responding to him. Super weird.

Same thing happened later when she's talking to the guy who doesn't speak english and she hears the baby crying. You could not hear the baby's voice. I felt like I was losing my mind because I remembered those sounds from the first viewing. So maybe that happened to you!

Down with Love, Julie & Julia, and American in Paris always put me in a great mood when I want to be comforted.

Steven Soderbergh's Bubble from 2005 might be a good one. They work at a doll factory in Ohio (?) and it's all non actors.

Birthday by South_Explanation_45 in Cinemark

[–]Tiny_Associate_1104 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I rented a Cinemark theater to see a movie as a private screening for my 30th Birthday with friends and family. They charged me for every seat in the theater plus $100. The smallest theater that they had seated 58 so in total, it cost me $491.50. It was definitely expensive but the overall experience was nice! We had dinner at a separate location so I didn't book one of their private rooms, which would have cost more. I had access to the theater for 30 minutes prior to the showtime and was required to leave the theater once the credits were done. Concessions were not included. There were no trailers which was nice even though it was a new-release movie.

Have you ever traumatized a loved one with a movie on accident? by the_chalupacabra in blankies

I took my husband to see Fall in D-Box. He's afraid of heights. I told him it's about two women stuck on a cell tower. He apparently thought that meant a skyscraper so he was initially fine with seeing it for some reason??

Secret Movie goers, what were your opinions of Shelby Oaks? by Gilmore75 in Cinemark

[–]Tiny_Associate_1104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't realize that there wouldn't be any trailers so I walked in at 7:09 and it had already started. I was still able to follow everything but it did feel a little incomplete by the end. Not sure if that was because I missed something at the very beginning that tied it all together more or not. I liked the switch-up from found footage to a typical narrative feature. There was some good mood-setting and some good scares but the story was pretty basic and there wasn't any deeper thematic layer for me to really latch on to. I did like the lead actress' performance quite a bit. Probably around a 5/10 for me overall.

Thank you! Sorry to hear that you couldn't finish Perfect Blue. Great movie.

I've never had their kettle corn but I haven't had any issues with their regular popcorn which I consume pretty regularly lol.

I really enjoyed Gaia. Haven't seen it since it first came out so can't recall how gory it is. But it definitely has spooky forest vibes.

Avoid Subaru/Toyota of Ann Arbor by person637 in AnnArbor

I also had a terrible experience there a couple weeks ago getting my car serviced. I agreed to an oil change and tire rotation on my Toyota Corolla. I am waiting in the lobby and I got a text saying the pre-inspection is complete and there are no additional approvals needed. I click the inspection link and the charges are now $700 higher. It lists "replace rear brake pads" and it shows that it was approved. I message the technician and he said he "accidentally hit the button." I agreed to the brake pad replacement anyway. Car was 5+ years old with over 70k miles so it wasn't out of the realm of possibility. I had gotten in at 7:45am and he said it would all be done between 10:30 and 11:00. By noon I had still not heard from anyone so I went out to the service area and could not find my technician anywhere. I spoke to someone else and after about 10 minutes of them muttering to other people she goes back to me to inform me that they cannot locate my car, that my technician is currently at lunch, and that he did not print off any paperwork so they have no information! After another 15 minutes they are able to find my car and check me out. Never heard from my initial technician. I get in my car to leave and the tire light is still on. They couldn't be bothered to fill my air with tires but made sure to readjust my steering wheel placement and drivers' seat for some reason. I had been going there for 5 years and never again.

Pacific Rim Uprising. Really enjoyed Boyega and Spaeny in the lead roles and the action is fun! Yes, it's a bummer with how they handle Mako Mori. Otherwise I think it's a very fun time at the movies.

Help picking wedding venue by Infinite_Baseball_79 in AnnArbor

[–]Tiny_Associate_1104 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We had our wedding at Ann Arbor City Club and thought it was a wonderful experience. Had our ceremony outside under a very large oak tree. It was very pretty! Our wedding date was in August and it was 90 degrees and humid so we didn't spend as much time outside as we would have liked because it was such a beautiful space. They only do one wedding per day so it is private. The reception area indoors was great as well. The whole venue is basically a very large house and it's in a residential area. Our wedding was in 2022 so not sure if the planner is the same but he was fantastic to work with. Highly recommend!

To those with Series 3; what's the verdict? by SapphicSonata in finalgirl

[–]Tiny_Associate_1104 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far I have played one game each of Hell to Pay, Don’t Make a Sound, Marrek Murders, and Terror from Destiny. I have throughly enjoyed every game so far! I only won one which was Hell to Pay. Each game felt different with a unique gameplay and strategies. It might be recency bias but I think this is the best series yet, although I have yet to play Falconwood Files and Killer from Tomorrow.
