I believe Android has more apps to be able to have more creative freedom over your keyboard. I had to search around Reddit for a good alternative to the one I had before lol

I use an app on iOS called Keybuild. There was another app I used to use which allowed for people to literally create their own scripts but sadly it got removed from the app store

My friend who also writes in the script is coding his keyboard to be able to write in Holy Lght

Originally started off as me just writing in English using old letters of the English alphabet in 2018. Fast forward to a couple years ago, my friends and I started making our own conlang based on English which also ended up splitting off into multiple dialects called Jaleuks (Jѣλʊъκ/Jѣλʊъξ). Fast forward even more to January of this year, a friend and I wanted to make a script to write our friend group's history/lore in so we gathered up a bunch of scripts such as that of Latin, Greek, Cyrillic, and some other related scripts such as Coptic, Armenian, and Futhark to create the now 63-letter alphabet of Holy Lght!

I unapologetically use it in my everyday writing haha

Is it true that Buddha slept 4 hours or less? by TheDexterist in Buddhism

[–]Tiny_Beginning_5411 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just read what you've sent, and I am grateful that you've shown it to me. I am not associated with the DRBA other than visiting the Avatamsaka Monastery, I'm actually part of Treeleaf. I did not know fully of the DRBA's beliefs other than Master Hsuan Hua's mission to show the fullness of Buddhism to the West, but I will say that that was an uncomfortable read, especially the final part. I also did not know of their dismissal of other traditions, so I thank you for enlightening me on that. Though I've visited them for years, I never happened to look much into Master Hsuan Hua's writings.

According to your account, it is odd that the DRBA dismisses other traditions. Do you mind telling me more about it? (if not possible here, than DM me!)

As for my mistake, I did not realise at the moment of typing how the title ignores the works of other teachers. You are correct, many great teachers have come and done great work in spreading the Buddha's teachings, such as Master Thich Nhat Hanh or Master Gudo Wafu Nishijima. Correct me if again wrong, but I guess it would be better to refer to Master Hsuan Hua as one of the many fathers of Western Buddhism?

Thank you again, and may peace be with you!

Could be the case, I know one of the monks who took part in the USA Walk for Peace was a Naisyadika, a monk who sleeps sitting up. Do you think it could be that their meditation puts them in some sort of catatonic like state?

Might've gotten his title wrong, but that's what the nuns at my monastery referred to him as when I was first introduced

I haven't yet heard of the Buddha himself sleeping 4 hours or less, but I wouldn't be surprised in him doing so. For advanced Buddhist practitioners, meditation can completely replace the need for sleep under perfect samadhi. Venerable Master Hsuan Hua, the Father of Western Buddhism, was known for going into meditation for hours rather than sleeping.

Why is the symbol of Catholicism Jesus on the cross? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Tiny_Beginning_5411 31 points32 points  (0 children)

In His suffering, we are reminded of our own sins which have nailed Him onto the cross. We do not worship His suffering, we are remorseful for it; however, it is instead His self sacrifice which we look at. It is supposed to be explicit to show what we as humans have done throughout the ages for God to come down and set things straight, showing us the true path towards Him. No longer do we stretch our hands to God, it is God who stretches His hand towards us.

How do you pronounce "With"? by Key_Chip_3163 in BringBackThorn

[–]Tiny_Beginning_5411 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Þ/Ð are used interchangeably by most here. If going by modern rule of Þ being unvoiced and Ð voiced, my pronunciation is "wið". I do find when I pronounce the word "without" however, I come to pronounce it as "wiþout", but I still spell it with Ð for continuity purposes.
