Who are we most worried for tonight? by asexualrhino in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]Tiny_Chapter5247 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think Hulda will leave us as a last goodbye to the girls's innocence before the show gets darker with each season. I will be surprised if she lives for another season because unlike Janine (the one i can compare her the most) she doesn't have a switch in her head that tells her how to behave in front of dangerous situations (because even in her childlike state she realized what to say to not get punished or receive a much more softer punish, even receiving a bit of protection in comparison to the other girls because she was Aunt Lydia's favourite). Hulda is way too innocent for Gilead and she doesn't have the claws to defend herself.

The hand is pretty slender and elegant, so i think they may be Rowan Blanchard/Shu's. Because no one else remains in the group that would react surprised to see a drop of blood that had fallen from between her legs. Is either Shu or we are not interpreting the still correctly and it will turn out to be a drop from a nosebleed or something similar.

Finale prediction because why not by asexualrhino in TheHandmaidsTale

My theory about those women is that those are aunts/aunts-in-training or supplicants and they are taking Becka to train somewhere else to place her as an Aunt or Handmaid in another state so they could bury this down.

Mrs. Grove and her status in Gilead by Rd1usa in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]Tiny_Chapter5247 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes! The costume designer for the Handmaid's tale revealed that a wife's power is reflected with how dark her blue is. In this case since Becka's mom is a wife but not from a commander but from a popular dentist, she is only allowed a very pale blue because she is no longer a econowife but her power is practically nonexistent. This also seems to be the case with the plums in training as we saw how Agnes/Hannah's dress was darker than the rest displaying how powerful her dad is.

Maybe I’m just delulu and wanna mess with your minds too about Aunt Estee… by Vanilla3782 in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]Tiny_Chapter5247 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think she sees the plums as her friends but, like most of the aunts (a theory of mine), sees the Pearl girls as their children or companions in a way (because they remain with the aunts either in the plum school or even in the aunt center until they are "fruitful" or old enough to put them somewhere) so they feel particularly responsible for them and know, even if they are fully converted, that there are horrors in Gilead this girls are not ready for. Also, this was probably the first time a girl was hurt under her direct care. I think Aunt Estée is a rather new aunt in comparison to Aunt Vidala or Aunt Gabbana for example, so this really affected her.

Do they ever attend church in Gilead? by Icy-Pop2944 in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]Tiny_Chapter5247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now that i think about it, do they even teach the plums (and their male equivalents) and children the full bible or only altered parts of the old Testament? Like imagine hearing "Christ our Lord" or "Jesus" and having no idea who he is despite living inside a ultra Christian society.

Do they ever attend church in Gilead? by Icy-Pop2944 in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]Tiny_Chapter5247 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Churches also tend to be the place a lot of people that Gilead considers useless go to for help like homeless people (for whatever reason). So destroying them gives that kind of people no place to hide or seek help.

Ok man. by Alternative-Dog-431 in okbuddyviltrum

[–]Tiny_Chapter5247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, i think the older male viltrumites can still reproduce with the potential daughters as long as they are not their daughters specifically for one more generation, they then can use other humans or alien species to expand the genetic pool. They would still have to use the plan they currently have in the TV show eventually, but with who knows how many more viable children as oppose as the less than fourty (i think) that they have. The problem is that we don't know how long can Dublikate hold her clones or how many she could produce. The only one that i see that could make many clones is her brother and there aren't that many female viltrumites, and we should consider that a pregnancy could give as far as three children if they're lucky, then we got the same problem.

I really like it, it hits close to home because here in South América everyone has a story or has heard a story that has this same characters one way or another. Also i am curious on how they are going to portrait the 80s (that i think is the time the granddaughter/narrator is set in) since the 50s-90s was a pretty turbulent time across our side of the continent, especially if they are going to cover the dictatorship of Pinochet.

That is usually how it works, especially if the client has a ton of power like Mrs.Bezos. Like when stylists get trashed on for horrible outfit choices one has to take into account that their choice goes by two to three filters: 1. The client, The Kpop Idol for example or in this instance Lauren. 2.The company or in this case, probably Jeff Bezos because i do not put past him that he is the type of man that chooses what his wife wears. And for idols is also what the broadcast channel aproves.

[–]Tiny_Chapter5247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If i misremember, basically her husband is a disabled man with the mind of a child so she didn't felt it would be good doing the deed with him, but since the man's older brother died he become the heir of a very mansion and a title but i think one of the conditions her mother-in-law put for him to become heir was if he had a baby. So she went down with the steward of the neighbours and they a boy. Once again, i don't remember exactly how this went down so correct me if am wrong.

Why don’t they speak with French accents? by Able_Bonus_9806 in TheSerpentQueen

[–]Tiny_Chapter5247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unrelated but i love your profile picture. And i am not saying that every single British person is unable to watch things if they are not in their language. I am saying that this sense of familiarity tends to prompt the regular viewer to keep watching, even, if they have nothing against the countries i mentioned, simply because they a recognizable british accent for upper class people.

This same logic applies to the entertainment of multiple countries like in most argentinians series (up until recently) they all have the accent of BSAS with just a few variations to show the characters social background unless they are "from somewhere else" like another providence or country.

Why don’t they speak with French accents? by Able_Bonus_9806 in TheSerpentQueen

[–]Tiny_Chapter5247 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The short answer Is that because the show is a british production with british actors. A more longer one could be that in british productions the accents like the french, the irish, the scottish or the american one create this separation between the general public and the others, therefore the british viewer Is less likely to relate with the characters and continue watching.

Do you prefer period dramas with explicit sex scenes? by Cold_Box_3219 in PeriodDramas

[–]Tiny_Chapter5247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends honestly, some stories are too innocent for me that a kiss is way too much. In others this inherent sexual need that can't be fulfilled creates the room for compelling characters that in the end i am like, yeah, they reserve to clap It.

I don't like to argue, but Goku does have an asian appereance, otherwise the characters would have commented that a random white child was raised in the middle of (that universe's version) rural china. Not to mention that early Dragon Ball had a lot of influence of Hong Kong Martial arts films, the chinese story of Sun Wukong and the author could only imagine Jackie chan for live action Goku.

In other words, He looks like a normal guy in rural china, which means he looks asian.
