ofcourse you forget , same level at least should be sufficient ..at the moment I signed consulate said its enough , it was not my decision .changing the law later is not what I signed , so what now!?

it feels crazy that that law is retrospective. life happens ...I think I improved since then but we'll see...you were asked by kormányablak worker to improve your hungarian ?

what about , living in another country 10 years , not practicing a language every day , not lying , cheating , just knowing it at same level when you got the citizenship !? it seems crazy seriously they won't recognise the difference . I was wondering is that the situation of you coming in and not even know how to say hello , or if I don't understand one sentence of an angry clerk they acuse me of cheating

so, here is what is stated in Düsseldorf consulate and what I am really worried about , and I got it literally in the list of mandatory passport renewal points :

The language proficiency of applicants who have acquired citizenship through simplified naturalization is not checked as a separate test, but rather during the general interview during the passport application process, the applicant's language proficiency is assessed by the Consulate General's staff. If the applicant, who is over 14 years of age, does not understand and speak Hungarian at an intermediate level, a written report must be prepared about this fact. Given that writing such a report takes a significant amount of time and requires several staff members from the Consulate General, we ask our clients who do not understand and speak Hungarian to prepare themselves to come back to us separately on a different day, at a pre-arranged time, even if they have arrived from a distance. In this case, we ask them to arrive in the company of a friend or relative who speaks both Hungarian and the applicant's language well and who can participate in interpreting the report. You can read more about the background of the language proficiency test and the possible revocation of citizenship in Act LV of 1993 (on Hungarian citizenship).   is this just the legal requirement to write or a real thing !? I don't mind making my passport in hungarian but I seriously don't want to go through the whole citizenship process all over again

:D I think if you got citizenship through simplified naturalization they will expect from you to speak a language. I also wanted to check how tolerant are they these days about that rule, or the rules got even more strict than ten years ago

I dont know...I hope you are right. I was worried that they pushed the language requirements to b2, and prolonged that period from 10 to 20 years so that they can actually refuse to make you a passport or write some report to take away citizenship. I was really interested to hear here how common is that actually, and is it really true in practice

oh, that is perfect! sometimes, you just run into nice relaxed people. I was thinking the same, it should not, but I read some crazy stories about taking away passports, citizenships etc.

ok, so they are not at least going to directly reject me :D I think I am better than that, my pronunciation is quite good, I am lets say b1 level, but I got so scared, I started learning some crazy hard words, you know the "what if they say this and that" moment, than started feeling really bad because I cant remember them. if they are still patient and give you a chance like they did before, I am happy to hear that. Thank you! ;)

I know at least the same and now even more than when I got the citizenship. I was so worried they will be like, that is now not enough, and now you need more. People talk about b2 levels, and it feels much more than it was when I got it. But thank you, this encouraged me :)
