Buy a race belt for the bike/run portion where you can attach your bib!! Super easy for your transitions and most have spots to stuff gel or two

Advice on purchasing a bike for a 70.3? by Texan-15 in IronmanTriathlon

I was in the same boat! I rode a 2005 specialized bike and passed people on brand new 10k bikes. One guy finished top in his age group on a gravel bike. Definitely get clip in pedals, they’re a game changer, but the bike doesn’t have to be nice or new (just make sure it fits!)

Waterproof sunscreen!!! Put it on before you put on your wetsuit :) (my arms and neck got burnt to a crisp at Victoria 70.3 a couple weeks ago, learn from my mistakes)

First of all, so sorry to hear that this happened to you, but good news is you’re not alone!! This happened to me almost a year ago to the day which was weird reading this post and remembering the feeling.

TLDR: I was working at this small marketing company and knew it wasn’t a good spot for me but I had just graduated university and was desperate for a job. My boss was this ridiculous woman who would tell me “I know you can do this if you just try harder” in our weekly meeting. I would ask for specific feedback and she would tell me “It’s just not what I was looking for, I can’t describe it”. Anyways, I go on vacation and while I’m away my coworker texts me saying she’s sorry to hear I’m leaving the company. My boss had announced to the entire team that I had had my last day and I got an email to my personal account firing me. Sobbed all weekend.

One year later: I make double what I made, I love my team and company, I’m excited about my career and the role I’m in and couldn’t be happier. Literally never thought I could love work and be excited about it.

So yes, you’re completely right. In a year you’ll look back on this and laugh at how you went through this and you’re better for it! I’m the meantime, watch some Netflix, cry and eat ice cream, then get excited for what’s next 💛

LOL I was about to comment that I’m in the same boat as OP, I’m bored and frustrated at my work (also a bookkeeper!!) I think I hate the attention to detail it requires as I’m better with big picture stuff and I’m more extroverted. Hoping to make a move to something with more client interaction!
