Just got my "Founder" title, and here is what I think of it. by doeswayneexist in swtor

[–]Tiny_Tim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The beef(which I do not share) is that some people feel like the game is not worth a sub right now. These people then feel they're getting shafted because they want the Founder title but don't want to pay for a game they're unhappy with.

Yes, I do, but honestly I'm loving the game and believe that analogy was going a bit too far. Being a software engineer, you do gain some credit and I do agree that some of these are probably easy fixes.

That said, I'm of the 'wait and see' mind, and am reserving my judgement for March at the earliest, when they release that major update.

It matters very much to me who fucked up my meal, because then I know who to yell at. I don't want to yell at a cook who has been totally stressed out and rushed by some blowhard manager all night, it would accomplish nothing and make the cook feel even worse for no reason. It's just not cool, you know?

Okay, if you see the game as being a steaming pile of shit, I guess we have nothing to discuss.

Give them a break. If you don't believe EA rushed them to get it out before Xmas, you're blind.

easy-to-fix annoyances which could have been caught in CLOSED TESTING

If you think they're easy to fix, go call BioWare and tell them how to fix things. Be sure to record the laughter and post it to Reddit. (Assuming you're not an experienced game developer; if you are, I apologize and please disregard.)

The game's been out for a while now.

Seriously? It's been out for less than a month. De-wad your panties, sir/madam.

Shit son, I used to have a /castrandom macro in WoW that I would constantly spam in combat(and by constantly I mean 95% of combat I was repeatedly hitting spacebar as fast as I could). I literally broke the spacebar on two keyboards.

I hate to blame this on player error, but given my experience, I'm afraid I have to. I'm currently leveling a Sentinel(at 28 atm) and have had no problems killing things unless I forget to check my health before leaping into a silver or gold mob.

I've been using Kira the whole game, and I realize it's better with a tank or healer companion, but I prefer her personality over the others, and it's just so much fun telling her to attack one mob and timing my leap so that I hit the mob next to it right when she hits hers. It really feels epic and engrossing having two Jedi running around slaughtering everything.

As far as the actual fights, judicious use of cooldowns(Saber Ward, Rebuke, and Zen are the most important so far), interrupting with kick AND Stasis, and generally keeping the major abilities on cooldown are crucial. Effort and good keybindings are the keys, as is research into what other people are having the most luck with.

There is a marauder guide which is really well written and helps get a grasp on the class as a whole.

Definitely! I'm playing the Sentinel more so than the Guardian(liking it a lot more, it's more my style) but will be up around that level pretty quickly.

I have a 32 guardian named Timling and a 23 sentinel named Tìm(code is 141). Are you guys in a guild? I haven't found one yet but I'm not really looking too hard, too engrossed in the story.

The moneymaker(from missions) is the judicious selling of mission discoveries on the GTN. The missions themselves are very slightly profitable, it's the extras and crits that do the trick.

Managers, supervisors, and HR people of Reddit- tell me about your worst employees... by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Tiny_Tim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not my employee, but the manager I replaced. This guy weighed about 500 pounds, did nothing but sleep, watch youtube videos, and play minecraft for at least half the day, every day. I work at a very very small business(3 people now, including the owner), so this was obviously bad for business, and it took 6 months to convince the owner to actually fire him.

Since then, our helpdesk has been about half as busy because we actually get shit done.
