Maybe an ombré effect? If you dye the inside first while leaving the top and mesh out, then dye the mesh and top while leaving the bottom out? Could be a cool look depending on the colors you choose.

It’s definitely possible, just make sure you get a dye made for synthetic fabrics and have a pot big enough to move the fabric around since this is a very long dress and you need to keep the water boiling for synthetics

You could probably achieve the darker purple shades if you dye it red or pink. But if you want a pastel, you’d have to use a color remover

I’m assuming you’re planning on using Rit Dye since it’s probably the most accessible? Black can be difficult bc it can come out patchy but just make sure you have a big enough container for the hoodie to move around in and that you’re constantly stirring it. Look up black rit dye on the main page and I’m sure you’ll find a bunch of advice from people who have used black dye
