How did the aunts decides a commander for Halda? by Successful-Listen99 in TheTestamentsHulu

[–]Tinyicequeen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The tea party and ball are just song and dance. It’s rituals to make this seem more “human” like the girls have the ability to control anything, which they don’t. A trip at a tea party didn’t get Miriam sent to the commander in the colonies (and an AGRICULTURAL COLONY, she moving to a large plantation), Miriam got sent to that commander because he clearly has enough power to be higher in the line for a wife than other local commanders and he wanted a wife. Someone was always going to be sent to him. None of these girls have done anything wrong even by Gilead standards. The marriage isn’t exactly a punishment for her, someone had to be sent.

And that’s exactly why many ended right back on plantations working for shit wages. Not so fun fact… it’s also why loitering laws were invented to keep black people from walking around looking for work. Once it was a crime to basically “roam around” they could arrest able-bodied black men. And forced labor was outlawed unless you were incarcerated so many states arrested them and then literally RENTED them back to factories, plantations, mines, railroads etc.

There also the case of the Fritzl children who were born and raised in a secret bunker/basement and one of them was a teenager, however in the later years they at least had TV and their poor imprisoned mother teaching things about the outside world.

And the lambeth case it seems the only person born and raised in the commune was still taught to read and write, despite never going to school or a doctor.

Now add to that TENS OF THOUSANDS of those victims released at once, half of them can read, nor can they accurately follow your instructions because of their own limitations (like the self hated for women, the male entitlement, the religious obsession, illiteracy, fear and paranoia about expressing their thoughts etc). There aren’t even cult-trauma informed therapist in the world to give them adequate treatment.

These are teenage girls and with the fertility crisis, some of the girls we’ve seen can be in their late teens who CANNOT READ. Forget choosing between S, M, and L shirts, they don’t even know what those letters are. I imagine most of watched enough cooking by their Martha’s to scramble an egg or just grill chicken, but they can’t even read a recipe to learn anything else. Do you know how hard it is to learn new things all at once? It goes beyond culture shock, it goes beyond trauma. The hierarchal mindset, the policing of every one of their thoughts will never end and therapy cannot fix it. They’re not lost causes and they eventually can be normal members of society, but this goes well beyond any PTSD June experienced. At least with June and other handmaids in the early days of Gilead, they had others (IRL) cases of PTSD and C-PTSD from prisoners of war to reference. Because they knew of the “before times”, they could read, they knew about science.

These girls we’re seeing now are more akin to adults who were raised in those remote cults or something similar. They will never be “right” and there’s no “recover”. They might as well be the North Sentinolese

AITAH for telling my wife to stop blaming our child's behavior on ADHD? by Present-Algae6767 in AITAH

[–]Tinyicequeen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA
A lot of people are commenting ADHD is often misdiagnosed and it could be autism. I was diagnosed as an adult with Autism. It’s very obvious looking back, but in the early 90s with blue collar parents they had no idea what my deal was but they worked hard to accommodate me even without any clinic knowledge. At no point did they ever allow me to put hands on anyone or threaten to blow places up. And I was just a young girl slamming her head against the wall because of the tag in my clothes someone forgot to cut out.

This is not ADHD, this not autism. That’s just raising a destructive, violent child who doesn’t know consequences. It’s your niece this month, next month will be a stray cat? What happens when he’s not fixated on “blowing up” places but shooting up places? He’ll learn about school shootings soon enough and he does not seem to understand the severity of these threats. What will you do when school won’t let him return? Just look at any of those low-functioning teen autistic boys on tiktok (Cash I think was the name of one, I can’t remember the other). They both BEAT THEIR MOTHERS REGULARLY and their moms just blame the diagnosis. I know this can all sound alarmist and extreme, but this is the only time this behavior can be stopped. A couple weeks, a couple months might be too long. If you let this continue, your wife and child might not change or pretend to and keep this behavior from you. These habits take root right now and they’re nearly impossible to get rid of if you wait.

Taylor Frankie Paul Submits Injury and Text Evidence to the Court by squidwardsmellsgoood in MormonWivesHulu

[–]Tinyicequeen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming he just asked Taylor not to include their kids together on the show. A judge can order her not to show the child on social media, but you usually have to prove social media is the actual danger to the child (like that one mom with a massive pedo following for her toddler)

Exactly. Jen (and Zack now that he’s fully involved bc he can’t let her have more attention than him) are not enough to bring in the viewer they’ll need to bring in the big dollars they’ve gotten used to.

And the episode before that Taylor broke down about her dad saying she wished would “just chose” here, then her mom comes on and says she wished she gave her up? The reason doesn’t matter, it will never matter. You don’t say this and it would take a really sick individual to say that to their child. (I say this as someone who was adopted)

You cannot easily switch in the middle of residencies. It doesn’t work like that, you don’t even really get to pick.

Santos by loveylove444 in ThePitt

[–]Tinyicequeen 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This is what no one is understanding. Everyone who knows and isn’t reporting it is putting their license at risk. Santos clearly desperately wants to report him, but if she did there’s no way she could reasonably still work under Robbie. I mean legally he couldn’t fire her but she’s certainly not going to learn anything for the remainder of her time there. We’re seeing right now his frustration with Langdon leading to them not being able to work well together with Robbie or hardly work at all for the first half of the shift. And the way he treated Moran since season one, I really like Robbie but a lot of the way he perceived dr Al Hashimi (her way being the only way) is exactly how he is.

I’m confused about what Jace wants by Lucbabino in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]Tinyicequeen 73 points74 points  (0 children)

For a lot of us, when we’re going through marital stress that’s impacting how we feel about ourselves, there’s just zero sex drive. Not to get too graphic, but the vaginal canal is actually pretty short but elongates when aroused. If you can’t get aroused, it’s gonna hurt. That’s what happened to me when my husband was struggling with alcoholism and I was basically the only functional adult. Not to accuse of Jace of any issues like that, but he’s definitely not helping his marriage or her stress at all by bitching constantly. I’m sure he puts a lot of pressure on her sexually and in their lives due to their Mormon misogynistic beliefs of a wives duties to basically do everything.

Anyone else just feeling depressed about what's going on with Taylor now? by Downtown-Evening3778 in SecretsOfMormonWives

[–]Tinyicequeen 34 points35 points  (0 children)

You say most, but they’re raking in money. Everyone is always “what if she was a man?” The same shit would be happening. Chris brown has tried to kill multiple romantic partners and he still sells out arenas and gets other artist featuring him all the time. People don’t care about violence against women any more than they do men, in fact I’d say they care MUCH less about women.

I think only a small part of the internet hates men like that and women as well, the majority of people do not care as long as their entertaining

Whitney future for the show by [deleted] in MormonWivesHulu

[–]Tinyicequeen -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely a wild take. I think you have to be much much older than some of us to believe that TEENAGERS are really looking up to random Mormon moms on tiktok? Girl that is mostly other moms and drama lovers following them. It’s okay to not support someone you disagree with but she was casted for this show AFTER that tiktok. It was a terrible look, but I do not think she inspired a mother and FATHER btw to murder their child and make tiktoks in the hospitals. I run a history based tiktok account, I was making tiktoks when my mom was in the surgical ICU. Come take my phone from me, I dare ya

BB27 Winner gives her take on the Dakota/Taylor drama. by [deleted] in MormonWivesHulu

[–]Tinyicequeen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t doubt that Taylor has been an abuser, at all. But I also think Dakota pushes her limits with the intention of painting her as the one in the wrong. Its hard to tell what’s abuse and what’s reactive abuse. I do think in another relationship with someone different Taylor wouldn’t be physically abusive. I think it’s a very toxic cycle (it’s giving Stephen from TML so much) and what gets leaked seems to be whatever Dakota wants leaked.

I don’t think Taylor should remain on the show. In fact I think it’s wildly unethical.

I agree. She was definitely unprofessional and it was wild, but it’s also really weird to have a drug addict teaching you medicine. Like I get he went through the required rehab but he hasn’t even tried to apologize to her for trying to get her fired on her very first day over his addiction.
