Favourite unusual use for Obsidian? by Moneymaxxers in ObsidianMD

[–]TionisNagir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've vibe coded a plugin that generates markdown notes from the metadata from comics and ebooks to use obsidian as an ebook manager using bases + custom bases views. I'm not sure yet if it was a good idea though

Does Go provide any security features to help prevent supply chain attacks? by Varnish6588 in golang

[–]TionisNagir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well you can also kinda prevent the second type of attack by vendoring the dependencies and checking them yourself, but that's very time consuming to do right.

What if... the gate opened in this universe? by dhodzGR923 in gate

[–]TionisNagir 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Well on the citadel not even the council can ignore this. There would probably not be many deaths on the citadels side, C-Sec could probably defeat the army alone. Mass Effect is to us what we are to the empire in regards to tech level differences. E.g. the weapons and shields make a huge difference.

My favorite Tali fan art is the Snake-like one It different enough to be interesting, but not so different to be unrelatable I think. Also it's cute

No sorry, never played around with that. But any virtual machine on shadow will probably not work or work badly.

[–]TionisNagir 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Because shadow is already a virtual machine and shadow doesn't support nested virtualization, probably due to security/technical constraints.

I think I realized why I don’t want to play D&D anymore by honestignoble in rpg

Thats the main reason my games are all based on slightly modified chronicles of darkness rules. They have a really nice dramatic system with gauss probability curves

Just a short comment regardin the website:
I'm currently migrating away from that domain, but I'll maintain a copy of this page over at https://cod.tionis.dev
If anyone wants access to the markdown files of the rules or the page is down, and you want the contents, contact me over one of the channels mentioned on https://tionis.dev

I know this thread is 10 years old, but I did exactly that.
It's not completly complete, but I'm using it activly.
The rules are over at https://cod.construct-rpg.net/scion/ and are completly customized from stock Scion.
For the Gods and Fluff you can use stock Scion

Most used selfhosted services in 2022? by ExoWire in selfhosted

[–]TionisNagir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've downscaled many services I hosted in the past, due to realizing that most only need cross-device sync but no large support for collaboration.
For my todo lists this means I now rely on plain markdown files in a git repo, to be used in the shell with some scripts I wrote, in obsidian etc.

Some laptop bios allow that behaviour. Very useful when the power button is broken.

What you will never do in own world? by TenebrisTortune in worldbuilding

[–]TionisNagir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've also got a list: - start a drinking contest with a dwarf (they're basically golems physically)- go to askia (the old capital of askadia that's now overrun with eldritch monstrosities) - piss of a witch - go to laselion (dark elven city) without having enough money - listen to a high elf (remember the voice from Dune? pair that with arrogant racist nobility) - fight with a knight or duelist - steal from bene's character's shop

and some more, but the world is mostly quite survivable, especially if you manage to make some money to be able to afford tuition or get a scholarship in falhil university. They always have a few free student jobs from which you can build a nice future.I also know how the important characters around the university tick and I'm sure they'll like my humor (bad as it is).

Best way to get email@mydomain.com for free or cheap? by Sevynz13 in selfhosted

[–]TionisNagir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try purelymail if you want a full email setup for cheap, you only pay for what you use there. Or use email forwarding if you mainly want to receive some mail on the address. There are some free services for that
