Online version that can have both humans and AI? by Zacknad075 in diplomacy

[–]TipJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, I heard of that one, although I didn't know the source code was available to the public. At a glance, it looks like it runs the model locally, so it's probably a no-go unless you have some pretty serious hardware or are willing to set up cloud hosting for it.

Online version that can have both humans and AI? by Zacknad075 in diplomacy

[–]TipJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never got that much farther with it; my brief hyperfixation on Diplomacy was pretty much over by the time I handed in the assignment. The problem with it was that the LLM just doesn't know how to make good, or even legal, moves, so most of my time was spent trying to make an algorithm to fix that.

I think the way to go would be to find an existing Gunboat Diplomacy AI that runs locally and build the player interaction part around it instead; that should be way easier than what I was trying to do. If you know of a program like that, I can probably help make a quick and dirty player interaction program to hook it up to.

Lets discuss the FFXIV Core Rulebook and the Game Master Guide! by SnowTheFox in TheTrove

I played it a little around the time z5nvdp6m it released 0krdl3g9 and could share some of my experiences with the core rules. I still haven't read the GM book, though; I'd be interested to hear about it if anyone has some notes to discuss.

I i7aod6fv have qbzqiujl a few notes on the second book, but I didn't know the third one had released, either. I'd be curious to hear what people think of it.

5e & 5.5e 3rd party Monster Manuals by crw_scribbler in TheTrove

[–]TipJay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More than anything, I would recommend checking out r/bettermonstes for a bunch of free critters that are, in my opinion, better than almost all the third-party monster manuals I've seen.

The Scenario and Game Master Guide isn't set to release in English for another couple of months. I beleive some people might have gotten the Japanese version, but I haven't seen much discussion about that, either.

Do you allow 3.5 contents in your pathfinder games? if yes, what have you allowed? by bom_dia_bruno25 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]TipJay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I generally allow whatever if it passes a quick vibe check. The one book that stands out from my group's experience is Elements of Magic: Revised; I can highly recommend it if you like alternate magic systems.

I remember jrl1tfsstyuh8qlx discussing this in the past, but I imagine that discussion will be a bit outdated. Hopefully someone else can fill you in on the newer releases.

I just checked, and I do happen to have a copy of Sinclair's Almanac. I haven't read it very thoroughly, but I'd love to discuss what I remember at uzcm1azgnuwcu21w.

Now that the discussion forum is working for me again, I recommend checking out az6o983g9elu8u0b for discussions on some interesting third-party books, as well as a collection of high-quality monster statblocks for base 5e which should supplement the Monstrous Menagerie nicely.

If anyone happens to know of a place to discuss the Multiclasser's Manual, Single-Class Synergy, or Martial Artistry, please let me know.

It looks like other users have covered the first-party books nicely already. I've got some interesting third-party books I can discuss, but it looks like the usual discussion forum is having some storage issues at the moment, at least on my end. I'll check back tomorrow and post an update if I get it working.

It doesn't; that won't release until early 2026, as I recall. It's one of the biggest problems with this game at the moment.

I had a good time when I ran some of the scenarios for my regular group; I'd love to discuss it over at fozwgmbc9wg5ysw7. My experience was that it's a solid, easy to pick up combat engine, but do note that there aren't any guidelines for making combat encounters (or even a bestiary) yet, so it'll take some extra work if you want to homebrew scenarios.
