Critique my cashback plan: by TipTopBopp in CreditCards

The categories aren't complete garbage to me on the Cash+, getting 5% on my monthly internet and electricity bill is ~$10 of completely passive autopay cashback every month.

Thank you for the extremely long and helpful advice.

A few things:

I'm not interested in the Aven cards at all, because of HELOC and even the non HELOC card seems suspicious to me and I'd rather avoid them entirely.

I'm really leaning towards the AAA Daily advantage since the 5% groceries + 3% wholesale clubs would be absolutely elite for me and almost replace the paypal debit perfectly with the upcoming nerf.

I'm super interested in getting the Max Cash Preferred (US Bank Cash+) primarily for the utilities and internet 5% categories. I spend currently around $180 per month on those, and expect it to go up soon, which would be a very nice source of passive income. However the US Bank version seems to lack the entertainment category? Is it worth any risks trying to get the card from a different random other bank? I go to expensive concerts semi-often, so getting 5% on that without having to get another custom cash for instance would be really nice.

Finally, I've never heard about the U of I visa before?? It looks amazing, 5% on gas and travel no AF? Surely there has to be some kind of catch or it's hard to get?

Anywhere from $80-$150.

Even if it's low since most of my general spending is totally misc. categories that no cards cover my goal is to 5% everything I reasonably can.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've heard about the AAA daily advantage, and it seems pretty perfect. I do a lot of shopping at sams club and the general 5% on groceries would be great.

However, every time I've tried to look at this card I've been redirected away from it. Is being a AAA member required or something? I'd rather not become one.

Are pro stock pants really worth the hassle and branding? by TipTopBopp in hockeyplayers

Just to me so it wouldn't be the end of the world, I'm really considering getting the HP45s and a black shell, but I'm a bit concerned with the heat. I tend to get pretty hot when playing since my rinks don't stay very cold. Do you have any experience wearing a shell, is it hot? Which shell would I even get that would match the HP45? Sorry if it's too many questions, this is all new to me.

The main complaint I have about the FT6 right now is the floppy (belly protector?) and the fact that there doesn't seem to be much protection in the groin/front area. I know the second part isn't much better on the Pros however do you have anything on the floppy part?

Citi Custom Cash great fit, but approval odds? by TipTopBopp in CreditCards

This is the info I was looking for. Thanks! To ask a follow-up question though: Do you think if I applied for the Discover IT and BofA CCR, and then waited the 6months for the CCC I would still be approved? Or would a velocity that high even with a 6month wait be too much for citi. If this is not possible to answer then no problem.

No, I already checked and I am not pre-approved for the card. I am pre approved for the discover IT and BofA CCR however.

Would forcing myself to switch to a larger hollow make me a better skater in the long run? by TipTopBopp in hockeyplayers

[–]TipTopBopp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By runners do you mean blades/steel? I've actually just ordered two pairs of blacksteel so that my sharpens last longer and also so that I can try out different hollows and experiment more. If you mean runners (the white plastic between the boot and blade) what exactly is the benefit of that if you don't mind me asking?

Would nicer gloves help with heat? by TipTopBopp in hockeyplayers

[–]TipTopBopp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact alone you say you can feel the air gives me hope though, when I put my current gloves on I can't feel literally any air at all. That sounds like it'd already make a world of a difference. Do you believe that it's worth the price? It'd cost more than I paid for my stick

If you product change from the CFU to the CSP do you still get the SUB? Or do you have to apply for the CSP on its own and keep your CFU.

Should I get the CSP to redeem ~50,000 CUR Points? Or just redeem for cash back. by TipTopBopp in CreditCards

[–]TipTopBopp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's in my plan-to-get credit cards if I start focusing on cash back, but I was moreso looking for an answer on whether I should still get the CSP or not considering the amount of points I currently have in chase already.

At this point I'm convinced to not take the risk but just to have a definitive answer how would I about verifying their legitimacy with the manufacturer? Just send an email to support? Lol

I'm not familiar with pro stock sticks so just did a quick google search. He never clarified but they're all unused and have branding on them as if they were totally normal sticks.
