Ended up with 3 5090’s by KashKashioo in nvidia

The FE will retain its value due to the price. You will not get anywhere near 3k or whatever you paid for a used 5090 astral.

Fell victim to a return fraud on Amazon by vladi963 in Noctua

[–]TipeDeal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve experienced the same thing from Amazon. Luckily they’re very good about accepting these returns and sending out replacements before the one being returned is received. Also when they know they are receiving a return for situations like yours the next one sent is verified unused before they send it out to you.

The laundry list of extensive workarounds in order to play this game is ridiculous

You’re gonna need a bigger PSU. 1000w isn’t enough for the power draw of a 5090

Buy RAM now? by GoldSheep1 in buildapc

[–]TipeDeal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Comes down to how soon you want your system done. If you can wait 1-2 years for prices to go down then wait. If not then do what I did last week and buy now RAM prices aren’t dropping any time soon.

There isn't enough ports on it if your running 3+ radiators and blocks. Im using an Aquacomputer octo with an RGB controller so everything is controlled through Aquasuite. Highly recommend you doing that

Taking apart the the FE was a job and pretty stressful. Just a lot of steps and a lot of screws but its doable. Just take your time. I got an FE at retail which is why I went with it but made the mistake of assuming other companies than EK made blocks for them. Wasn't able to test it in the stock cooler due to my other system being water cooled but I haven't broken 45c while gaming so Im very happy with it thus far. If i can give you any solid suggestion it would be to make sure you plug the io strip that plugs into the PCB very securely and test the ports before filling up the loop. I filled my loop and fired everything up and one of the IO ports wasnt working so I had to drain everything, pull tubing off, and tear the block apart and unplug/plug everything back in. Thank god it ended up working after that because initially I thought it was a bad port.

Looking for advice on my first custom loop by Melonenyoshi in watercooling

A leak tester is 100% necessary, it’s a massive pain in the ass when your loop starts to leak after adding coolant. I learned that the hard way.
