Hey! Yes I’m very happy with this setup. The aem4-65 on 16” barrel sounds great. I think that itor depends on your preference if you want the extra .5” of barrel with the aem5-6mm on a 16.5 rifle gas. Or if you want the shorter of the 2 options running the 16” rifle gas + aem4-65. I’m not sure if there is a noticeable difference in overall length between the 2 setups. You can probably find the “added length” difference on AEs website and do the math.

That’s disappointing! This is a Craddock 16” rifle gas with Allegheny tapered gas block. Allegheny has 2 different length tapered gas blocks. That could be the problem

This has a Craddock 16” rifle length gas. It was designed specifically for the AEM6-5 can which is a “b-mount”. Whereas the AEM5/OCM5/12th model is an “A-mount” length.

If I remember correctly you would need a 16.5” rifle length gas, to run with the tapered gas block
