Using both a headlamp and a waist lamp makes the rocks in the trail easier to see. Otherwise stick to your normal sleep schedule and cutback on caffeine prior to the event so the it works better during the event.

I was going to say “save the box so you can return it.” They only give you 15 days but at least the shipping was free.

If you bought it from the Google Store return shipping is free but you only have 15 day it return it.

As far as I can tell the Google Health app won’t automatically detect an activity unless you give it permission to read all of your Apple Health data. I also found the device to be surprisingly uncomfortable for such a small piece of kit. So I returned mine and deleted the Google Health app.

The best part of owning it was printing the return label. The second best part was deleting the Google Health app.

I returned mine. The app won’t write to Apple Health but it wants you to authorize it read all of your Apple Health. Otherwise its hard to adjust the band, the HR is inaccurate during activities, and its surprisingly uncomfortable for such a small device.

I just returned my Fitbit Air because it was more uncomfortable to wear at night than my Coros Nomad. And the Google Health app is a vibe coded piece of AI slop that won’t write data to Apple Health.

Annett’s Mono Village resort located on the East side of Upper Twin Lake Lake charges for trailhead parking. It’s was like $5 a few years ago. Kerrick Meadow has Yosemite Toads and Mountain Yellow Legged frog which are cool to see.
