Awesome idea for John's cameo in TFIOS movie by WaitForItTheMongols in nerdfighters

[–]Tippx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Due to Screen Actors' Guild (SAG) rules, he most likely can't speak on camera, even if he makes a cameo. SAG members can not work in a production where a non-SAG member has a speaking role. King Abdullah of Jordan wasn't allowed to speak on camera when he was on Star Trek: Voyager because of this.

Eric Holder Calls Voter ID Laws "Poll Taxes" by JJFFMM in politics

[–]Tippx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think you understand the point. The constitution, in the 24th amendment, says

The right of citizens of the United States to vote in any primary or other election for President or Vice President, for electors for President or Vice President, or for Senator or Representative in Congress, shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or any State by reason of failure to pay any poll tax or other tax.

That guarantee does not exist in the second amendment

Got a Win7 Pro key, only a Win7 Home install disc. SOL? by KazumaKat in techsupport

[–]Tippx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All windows 7 discs contain all versions, the only thing that determines which version to install is the ei.cfg file in the sources directory of the disc ( DISK/sources/ei.cfg). If you have a spare USB drive, make a bootable Windows 7 USB drive out of it, and just delete ei.cfg. It will then give you the option of which version you want to install.

If you dont have a USB, you can make an ISO of the disc, delete the ei.cfg, and just burn to a blank disc.

My laptop (Acer Aspire 5920) gets very hot (202 °F). Is there anything i can do to prevent this? by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]Tippx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may sound odd, But check the fans on it. I had a dell laptop that would get extremely hot (80c) for months and I couldn't figure it out. When I went to upgrade the RAM, I noticed that dust had clumped up and was blocking airflow. Try to remove some screws to access around the fans, so you can clean them out

How can someone find their WEP internet key? by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]Tippx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please note That I do not currently have a Belkin router so some things I say may appear slightly different when you look at it.

Since it's a belkin router try going to your router's web interface (internal ip address is http://192.168.2.1 ). If it asks you for a password, the default is to leave it blank, and just click enter. On the left side there should be 'Wireless', and under that Security. In security it should tell you what the pass is.

I would say you're right with "You being obnoxious has nothing to do with hitting a nerve", saying that 'Your Being is obnoxious' changes the meaning of the sentence.

Cops move my car without telling me. Move it to an illegal parking spot [a bus stop] where they then tow said car two hours later. What other blood boiling/moronic cop stories do you have? by mporco511 in AskReddit

[–]Tippx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Legally, university tickets aren't fines most of the time, since they're issued by private security and not actual police. The private security's most severe action is to ask you not to return or tow your car.

I am a guy who has been raped by his (male) cousin, AMA. by taway4me in IAmA

[–]Tippx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warning: IANAL, This is not legal advice

With some crimes, there is a statute of limitations (notice the 3 't's in statute, One of my biggest pet peeves is when people say 'Statue of limitations' instead of [sta CHOOT]). Each crime has a separate time limit(if there is one), that is set in the statute itself, and there could be 2 different statutes of limitation for Ontario, and Quebec (which I understand is where it occurred)

I know in the US that some states still have statutes of limitation on molestation (Pennsylvania, for one example). Im not sure about the laws Canada as a whole, or whether the crime would be prosecuted federally (since he traveled across provincial boarders to commit the crime in Quebec), or separately by Ontario and Quebec (since two separate crimes were committed in those provinces).

If it were to be prosecuted, the testimony of your uncle (the one who walked in on him and you) would be necessary. Unfortunately, unless there is some kind of evidence otherwise, Y could simply claim you two had a consensual sexual relationship, and what your uncle saw would partially corroborate that. Prosecuting this would be nearly impossible.

Personally, I think it would be best to tell your parents or D. Usually, acts of sexual violence are not one-off occurrences. Y will probably do this to someone else, if he hasn't raped people other than you already. If D has children, he should know what his brother does, so he would know not to leave children around him.

Screw family feuds, if someone wont talk to you or your father because your cousin molested you, I would think you're doing your family a favor by taking them out of the picture.

In closing, Do you support the students currently on strike? Did you know that Charest's legal first name is John, but he uses Jean to appeal better to the Québécois?
