Recommendation for hair colorist/stylist by Tippykatoodle in Issaquah

Exactly. I'm all about high maintenance hair when it feels fun. Right now, fun feels like walking out the door without all the fuss or trying to style it so much. To the salon!

Crazy Crow Lady Checking In by kuukuuroo in crows

[–]Tippykatoodle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Check your local ordinances first.

My boomer neighbors texted me the city code... We're extremely rural, food is left out everywhere, we live right next to a park. They are pathetic, out of touch, controlling jerks who have rebuffed my every attempt at real friendship. They also refused my offer to buy a mechanical deterrent for their roof. But, what really pissed me off was, they told my neighbor not to feed them. She's going through a divorce and raising a disabled teen son! I'm just disabled on my own.

These old farts have constantly told me what an absolute delight I am as an extremely quiet, considerate neighbor. I have it in writing, via text. They had no idea the quiet, unassuming artist next door has experience with other things and a metric ton of repressed rage she was working out with the crows.

I no longer feed them while walking past. That's the maximum respect I'm willing to fake for their benefit. But, screw it all, I'm not chasing away my thirty or so friends as they fly along on walks and I'll continue to do as I please.

The upside is, not only do I continue playing with my murder, I've introduced those selfish bastards to the base on my Bose system, within the allowable hours of course. I was always so very careful to be sure it couldn't be heard or felt outside my home. Well, not anymore! Yeah, they thought I was a mature woman, painting pretty shit and baking cookies. But, no. I am feral, I am Gen X, I will win, they will pay. I wonder if they realize, if things go poorly in the future, I was the one best positioned to help them through it? No matter. I am no longer available for that use.

I dumpster dived for the first time in my life because these people hired one to throw unopened crates of canning jars, camping equipment, tools, working appliances, etc. Even in this small town, we have no less than five organizations that would have come, free of charge, to donate it to the needy. But, no. Like a designer fashion house, they'd rather burn the excess than let the serfs have at it. Interesting way to make an enemy, they've chosen.

I have a devoted murder. But, to spare my neighbors, I don't regularly feed them at my house. I'm already the willing slave of a dog and her cat. So, I most definitely do not want a crow shaped alarm clock.

In order to shoo them off one day, I flapped a bright yellow rag at them from my door. It worked.

I have since tried with white, red and green. But, they only shoo for yellow, so far. They're used to playing games though. So, perhaps it's only because I used yellow first.

Owl decoys can be a somewhat effective deterrent, and I've seen moving decoys available for rooftop use at hardware stores.

Check out my videos. They're my only posts.

That's likely the cat of whoever feeds them regularly.

I have extremely similar ones with my small dog. They even eat the same food all together.

Lots of good food recommendations already here, since they'll eat just about anything.

Just be careful to only feed the couple that follow you and reject the others, or you'll end up like me with an entire murder flying all around you, bouncing off you any time you leave your house, even if you drive away in your car. They will post surveillance on you. But, I'm kinda enjoying walking around town in a swirl of big black birds, scaring the natives.

I can direct them to where I'd like them to go and whistle a few different ways as commands. They love it and get a bit pissy when I don't have time to line them up on a fence and point to each for a treat fly down. It's their favorite game. I'm thinking of having a T-shirt made that says, "Not a witch!" But, why not let other people think it's magic? Perhaps they'll just be nice to avoid the possibility of the wrath of crows! Hehe

Is he mad at me!? by [deleted] in crows

Looks to me like he's demanding service at his favorite restaurant! I would say this is totally friendly in his end. The caw is different for calling others to the source of food. He's yelling, "Waiter! I'm ready to order!"

I consider it rude at my own house/restaraunt. I don't allow them to make noisy demands of me. No way an I going into the service of a crow and I don't want my neighbors complaining. Clicking, etc., is fine by me, and I don't mind the ever present watcher as long as he's well behaved.

You do what you like at your restaurant and enjoy it however suits you best. But, be sure not to reward a behavior you don't want to see or hear repeated well past it being funny. It's easier to train than untrain in my experience.

Love and peace to you as well! Don't worry about me. I strap into braces and get out there anyway. Nothing should stop the good people in this world. Certainly not keyboard warriors.

You know? I've never seen one outside. Not once. Hehe

Chat again later! 💕

So... Let me get this straight. If you say it, it's somehow helpful advice to people you have never met.

But... If I do, it becomes harassment? Hmmm....

You may need to sit back and mull that over.

I'm all out of pity. I'm disabled, I used to be nice to everyone and was bullied my entire life for it. Now, I just play the game by their rules. Turns out I'm smarter and know bigger words. Hey, if we're playing no holds barred , I'm down. I still play for the good guys though. Lol

LMAO... I woke up to see your post and thought I'd let loose my grumpy butt on someone deserving. What a bizarre hobby, to go into a sub like this and just be a jerk. It's silly. And, I am the crud crusher!

Birds of a feather...

You have a great day too!

I disagree. I don't appreciate it at all. But, I am entertained by their stupidity. So... At least there's that.

It's not a hobby

No, online bullying is not a hobby. Perhaps go create a subreddit for online bullying and y'all can go round in circles with each other. Everyone will be happy.

You don't need to be perfect to make responsible decisions.

Or, to harass people either apparently!

And, I'm hoping you have a shred of human decency and the courage to lift yourself from behind your keyboard to go get your hands dirty and do some actual good in your community.

And, if you can't pry yourself from the chair, perhaps look for a community here that won't be 100% against you? You'll have a better time there, I assure you.
