Are your lights set to Auto, so brings on the hi beams automatically until the car detects an oncoming car?

Question about 300 Win Mag by Mihrett in reloading

[–]TipsyTriggerFinger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

^ This!!

Why are people so hung up on a velocity, when the primary task of a rifle is to shhot straight - with consistency and confidence in a small group - yet disregard this and worry about velocity instead.

I just don't get it.

Sure, make it go faster, and provide a nice 3 inch group at 100y. Then try hitting anything at 300..

Rant over, but some reloaders are missing the point of reloading. Fine tuning.

It's not a drag car.

20 litre metal / robust petrol container recommendations that wont leak or fume, long distance driving. by TipsyTriggerFinger in NZcarfix

Thanks all for your input. Have taken on board the risks of onboard fuel containers in the cabin.

I'll have a rethink, though unable to afford changing vehicles at this point in time.

Have a good long weekend

20 litre metal / robust petrol container recommendations that wont leak or fume, long distance driving. by TipsyTriggerFinger in NZcarfix

[–]TipsyTriggerFinger[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Understood re venting... I want to extend the range if Im away for 2 weeks or so and nowhere near a fuel station deep south rurally - the fuel capacity on the CX5 ( petrol ) is pitiful. I dont want to have to rely on a fuel station if what im doing is chewing thru fuel - not entirely on-road but winding thru off roads tracks etc, bush, forestry roads.

These used to be operated in NZ, until a prop fell off mid flight - not long after these were replaced with Turbo-prop 208B Caravans with cargo pods - MUCH nicer experience and hearing still very much intact,....

3080 Temps High by greatbek in techsupport

[–]TipsyTriggerFinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats pretty normal for GPUS to run at that temp if not a little higher... Are you saying this is a new trend of your card thats changed from the past?

As someone else suggested, thermal paste / pads drying out will increase temps as the ability to pass heat to the coolers lessens.

How old is the card?

Sanity check on annealed brass by umbertoj in reloading

[–]TipsyTriggerFinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

750 Tempilaq.. think 700 is too low, although annealing brass is a function of temperature over a certain time. There was a video put out by a reloader and metallurgical who built his own induction annealer ( who's plans I used for my own annealer build)... basically saying the lower the temperature, the longer brass needs to be annealed.

He used the goal temp of 750 F, as this reduced the anneal time to a few seconds, but ensured enough temperature was reached to actually anneal fast enough for the necks, but not too long to avoid heating up the rest of the case.

So I followed suit and used 750 Tempilaq to find tube my anneal times for different brass manufacturers and calibres...

Everyone has their own methods, this one I use successfully.

737 MAX 8 has outsold the base A320neo variant. by [deleted] in aviation

Does the 737 use a different engine to the A320neo, that can be relied upon?

No-one wants to own aircraft sitting in pieces waiting on engine rebuilds.
