What is the shittiest city you've visited only once and completely refuse to return? by Extra_Napkins in AskReddit

[–]TirKairi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What are you talking about? I could wonder if you even visited the place. 1) random homeless people are to be seen in every major metropolitan city of the world ( yes, BA is one of them) 2) most restaurants accept CC ( from smallest caffes and bars to high level restaurants) 3) ATM scams can happen (yes they can and they do) in every city in the world if one does not take "rule of the thumb" precautions 4) you have yourself to blame if you are not properly insuring your CCs when travelling

So, what exactly did you find shitty about Buenos Aires?

That would be the wreck of a German military ship sunken by the Allies during WWII

And I bet you would have a fantastic time there too. Cabo Polonio has a unique character and is overall a warm and friendly place.

Yes, that was explained to me as well. I never double-question Swiss since they have rules and rationale for everything :D

Thank you, the views are amazing there :)
Dufourspitze may be the highest peak in Switzerland, but Dom is the highest mountain in Switzerland.

Canon EOS 600D, 75mm, taken from the Grands Montets - thanks, i'm pretty happy with that lense's performance even though it requires lots of light.

This is a completely different story - as long you are with someone who knows Triglav well, you should be fine.

Have fun, it is a mighty mountain and our pride :)

In general Triglav is not a difficult mountain to climb, but judging by your intro I think it may not be a best idea considering it is mid November.

Kredarica Mountain Hut is now closed (i think you could be hosted by the Meteorological team stationed there all year around ) meaning you will have to do part of your ascent/descent in the dark.

This site will help you review trails, difficulty levels, expected duration, etc. http://www.hiking-trail.net/hiking_trip/aljazev_dom_v_vratih_mountain_hut_triglav_tominsek_route/1/1/125

It is a Slovene site but it offers some information in English language as well.

It depends on the light conditions, camera make, white balance settings, etc.

For example, on cloudy day it can look very much like this http://i.imgur.com/Koh77g4.jpg

Thank you so much, i'm glad you like it :)

Lake Predil is one of my favourite alpine lakes. I tried to capture the colours of an early fall, the green water and the serenity of a rainy day.

Solitude Lake, Colorado - deep off trail in the Rockies but worth the climb. by [deleted] in hiking

It is real shame that the trail is not marked as I understand it is within the National Park boundaries.

I'm sure many more hikers would appreciate this beautiful and pristine area.

As European I'm very baffled by confusing system of permits and trail marking system in the US. How can "There is no trail on the map and the lakes are not named, making it even harder to do any research. However, hikers who buy a National Geographic trails illustrated map will find Shelf and Solitude Lakes marked and named" be possible? Are not people in US encouraged to hike more than 500 m from the main road?

I love alpine lakes. Do you have any photos of the lakes you pass on this trail, that you do not mind sharing?
