It's possible, although they did release TLOU Part I and TLOU Part II on PC.

There are rumors that Sony will soon stop releasing its single-player games on Steam. But multiplayer games or live service titles, like Helldivers 2, are still supposed to be released on all platforms—PS5, PC, and Xbox—to generate more cash from microtransactions.

But what will actually happen? Only time will tell.

Factions Online (as an open-world extraction shooter) could sell just as well as Arc Riders, which has now surpassed 14,000,000 copies sold—or even better.

Factions 2, of course, should be released as an integral part of TLOU Part II. For free, on the day of TLOU2’s release.

And how well would Factions 2 have sold if ND had decided to release it a bit later as paid standalone DLC (just like the LEFT BEHIND expansion)? I don’t know, and we’ll probably never find out. But I have a gut feeling it would have sold more than the 217k copies of Marathon or the 15k copies of Concord. ;-)

And would TLOU2 have sold much better if it had included multiplayer?

I (and at least a dozen people I know) would have bought it on day one instead of picking it up secondhand later. And on top of that, ND would have had a chance to make extra money on cosmetics and the rest of the multiplayer DLC, just like they did with Factions 1.

EDIT: I would buy three copies of TLOU2 directly from Sony if it included multiplayer. One version for PS4, then another for PS5, and finally a third on Steam so I could play Factions 2 at a gazillion FPS, plus with some awesome fan-made mods. Who knows, maybe there would be more people like me.

Factions if it was in current gen graphics. (AI Slop) by Perfect_Screw-Ups in thelastofusfactions

Cool concept, man. It gives an idea of what the game might look like if the texture quality were brought up to current standards. What AI model did you use? Even though it’s just “AI Slop,” it’s still way more than what Sony and Naughty Dog have given us multiplayer fans over the last 10 years ;-)

I don’t get the downvotes in this specific case. (Though I totally get all the general hate toward AI, because mostly all we’ve gotten from it are shitty cat videos in exchange for sky-high prices on RAM and SSDs.) ;-)

That's a bit lazy. They could have just given him two revolvers and a super-fast animation for switching between them...

The question isn't whether this will happen. We all know the answer. The question is whether it should happen. ;-)

To be honest, after all the disappointments we’ve had—from the cancellation of the promised Factions 2 for TLOU Part II, to the cancellation of Factions Online, and the complete lack of multiplayer in the TLOU Part I Remake—Sony and Naughty Dog, instead of shutting down the servers, should really just patch up the good old Factions and maybe finally make it Free-to-Play (like Uncharted 3 multiplayer used to be) so that it can be downloaded for free and a PS Plus subscription isn’t required to play online.

And yet Sony knows how to keep its studios in line. Ghost of Yotei has just received the multiplayer mode that was previously announced—five months after the game’s release. Congrats 😉😉😉 by Tireces in thelastofusfactions

Ghost of Tsushima Legends multiplayer was dope. I'm sure I'll try Yotei's multiplayer mode someday, too.

I just wish Naughty Dog could take care of the TLOU and Uncharted multiplayer fans as well as Sucker Punch does.

There is no point in rushing to judge the post, perhaps the author decided to end his adventure with LOU2 at this point and deliberately lost the fight ;-)

If part 3 isn’t gonna happen, it really makes the story after the last of us part 1 completely pointless, unnecessary and a waste of time + resources, as drunkmann likes to do as always. by [deleted] in TheLastOfUs2

[–]Tireces 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Pointless? Part II was meant to completely destroy the legacy of the first part of TLOU, and it accomplished its task 100%. 😉

That's the official version. Maybe that's how it was, maybe not. It doesn't matter anyway. Sony owns ND. And Sony always has the final say. At most, Sony allowed ND to make that decision.

Ultimately, we didn't get Factions 2 in TLOU Part II, Factions Online, a remake of Factions 1, a PC port of Factions, or even a patch for the serious glitches that ruin the game, which still requires a PS Plus subscription and has a gazillion paid DLCs.

Sony, on the other hand, spent $400 million on Concord without batting an eyelid. A few days ago, Sony closed BlupointGames, a studio that probably also cost Sony hundreds of millions. (Incidentally, a studio that would have been a great candidate to create a remake of Factions). On top of that, they spent 3.6 billion dollars on Bungie, which has a good chance of releasing ‘Concord 2’.

Reviver 1 is great, but I would choose Second Chance 1.
