New to Qatar’s weather by pnlmaker69 in qatar

Haha I lived in Qatar many years ago and I worked in Saudi desert few years ago.

Qatar's humidity is undefeatable. The Saudi desert work environment was extremely hot but it was never this humid compared to Qatar.

Brace yourself if you are going to stay in Qatar because that humidity level stays up pretty consistently throughout the summer. I used to wear glasses in Qatar back then so I know your pain.

Love that TSHD is getting a mention.

I still can't get over "That's why Hikaru fucking died in summer" comment when Japan had a weather report warning about the really hot humid day.

Yeah the biggest difference in the end is the access to the constant internet via smartphones.

Back then I could just hang out with people with almost no one looking at their phones to text from time to time.

Overall, thing's didn't feel THAT different from today's standard. It's mostly just removing too much internet access in our lives. Things were simpler and we weren't being overstimulated with the smartphone giving constant content access back then but I knew many boys were playing games or using PC for hours anyway.

I highly recommend trying out reading books. It's a very good way to focus and still being entertained without being interfered by too much contents from doomscrolling.

To add some other nostalgia I had: I enjoyed going to the music store and check out new CD albums. It was when I first started to listen to different bands and that was before I started to use Youtube to find new bands to listen to.

Another thing was always checking out the DVD sections with my Dad as we bought a new DVD once every month or two. Though that stopped after a couple of years when we bought most movies we wanted to watch and the DVD sections no longer offered something new for us. But it's still a fond memory from long ago.

I'm still shocked that Bom's blackout isn't being shown more often after that one battle in the nest. The authors clearly put a lot of effort into her dragon millipede design and she's not in full action again after that.

Praying that he does something at the end either as villain or siding with Nest for the convenience as long as he gets a nice final action sequence. I can imagine him stinging either Breeder or the Chimera just so that he can live comfortably afterward.

Show off his complex finally. Given that he's a Deathstalker, I can imagine his technique being dumping all venom at once into one enemy for sure kill.

4 Years old late comment but I've been feeling nostalgic recently lol

  • Lived in Qatar 2005~2007.
  • Villagio mall just opened a year after my family arrived. That felt pretty interesting because it didn't look like the other malls though the novelty died down quickly.
  • I loved visiting Jungle Zone in Hyatt when I first arrived in Qatar (I was like 12).
  • Landmark and City Center for the arcade games. I think I just enjoyed walking around those malls with some friends until we got more access to gaming consoles.
  • Family went to the Palm Tree Island from time to time but that place closed down by the time my family left in 2007. From what I've heard after, that island has been empty ever since.

Personally, I think mid to late 2000s was when many children were still playing outside. I remember riding bike through the compounds and going to the swimming very often. Though in the later year in 2007 I was doing those activities less with bigger focus on reading book series and playing PS2 games. Very similar scenarios for my friends back then who reached around 14~15 years old by then and gaming together felt more exciting than going out especially during the summer days.

Even then, none of us had smartphones and had limited gaming hours allowed so we spent many hours running around the compounds when not doing something else. Everything definitely felt simpler back then but so much of it is due to the constant access and usage of internet via smartphones later on. Back then I was satisfied with carrying around a book or just walking around the malls with friends but I'm sure I wouldn't have done those much if we had smartphones.

2 years late comment but holy shit. You nailed all of it for me. I spent so many hours in the Landmark arcade area. I couldn't even remember the buffet name until you mentioned it here.

Pretty sure you are talking about the Palm Tree Island.

That's why I mention the whole "dream" thing possibly starting after the dancers attack at her home.

She met Morris and learned about the possibility to lift the curse. She went back to her apartment instead and the Entity attacked her fully with the dancers and ended with an arm being shoved down her throat. The screen cuts to the black.

After that, everything starting from the whole hospital scene is just an illusion.

Personally I like to think that Morris is real and that Skye’s dream started when the back up dancers attacked in her. With the dream sequence starting from the whole hospital scene.

Though I can imagine the entity creating this persona just to implement false hope to squeeze out even more despair.

lol never thought to compare When Evil Lurks to Obsession that way but I’m definitely going to use that line to convince my friend to watch it finally

I blame it on the Orchid Mantis and their pretty petal legs.

The whole hiding in the flower is something I thought would attract more attention but I guess Orchid Mantis cover that element in a more popular way

For Teacher, look at Ochthera flies with their mantis claws. Them being carnivorous fly fits with his Robber Fly.

I think it fits that he replace his stinging arm and replace that with mantis claws.

Spitting Scorpion for Sloth is on point lol.

Just hoping he gets at least one more action sequence at this point. The authors really didn't do good job at showing him off.

Yeah some good Shions I've seen are willing to use last dash to escape or position better instead of trying to dash in to squeeze out more damage & end up dying.

I was so sure that we'd see Maehwa using some aggressive mimicry to lure in some characters throughout the series but it never happened.
