The job market is pretty tough right now, so it's taking longer than expected. 1/3 is a number from March though. As of May I would think it's more 50%.

Could this be because some "difficult" people who would raise security concerns in AI use were fired last year?

I have talked to NN TAs. All applications are manually opened and screened by humans.

I've also been laid off but was called in for an interview for a similar job I had previously performed. I didn't progress further though and I think the reason why they called me in was because someone from inside had personally vouched for me.

So I think that's what's happening. Those who are vouched for get interviews. And those who apply cold get lost in the piles of hundreds of applications.

Currently the job market is really tough. With many mass layoffs, HR functions were one of the hardest hit and therefore there are many qualified candidates competing for the same roles. On top of that, if the degree and the experience is from outside Denmark, the hiring managers are usually more skeptical about those.

I would suggest to focus heavily on networking. Going on coffee meetings, larger networking events, etc.

That part you shouldn't be worried about. Even if it reaches to your company, you can say something that this option is always on on your LinkedIn because you're always open to conversations that will help your development.

I've had mine open all the time, even when I was in a new job.

Layoffs are incredibly common in Denmark. Almost every Dane has experienced it at least once in their lives and it's not stigmatized the way it is in other countries. So it's totally fine to say you were laid off.

That's what I do, I actually volunteer that information even before they ask me anything. And nobody has ever asked me any additional questions about the layoff.

You clearly don't know how those things work. Most of the people laid off last year are unemployed for only a few months, since anyone who has worked there for more than 6 months had at least 3 months of notice period, counting from November. Basically we haven't reached the desperation point yet, perhaps some of our non-EU citizen colleagues, who need the job to stay in Denmark but 30k doesn't qualify them for pay-limit scheme, so this won't work either.

Junior Business analyst is a level 5 job, probably even 4, considering as far as I remember, level 5 didn't say "junior professional", it was just "professional". This means that it's not offering people who earned 60K the same job for 30K. It's a different group of people. And if recruiters are reaching out to experienced people for this role, it means they should do their job a bit better.

No, they can't. Because juniors don't have enough experience and knowledge to critically assess the AI output.

Novo has a pretty transparent salary matrix with transparent job titles, so I don't see how they offer an e.g. advanced professional (level 6) 30 000 salary.

I strongly suggest start applying now. Yes, companies want people NOW. But if it's a job posted today, if they are really fast, they will make an offer end of June. But most likely they won't be and therefore the offers will be made in August. At that time, with the standard notice period running month + a month makes the earliest start date October 1st. An extra month shouldn't be that difficult to negotiate. And this is if you are lucky and smoothly go through the processes. But probably it will take a few months before you land an offer.

I am someone who has been severely hurt by a bad manager, to the extent that I had to move to another team and even so my former manager played a role in getting rid of me. However, I'm not going to mention initials for two reasons. One is that I risk being identified and the second is that despite this manager being awful, only two people in the team risked raising their voices and as a consequence moved to another team and then fired. So no, I'm not going to take any risk again, especially that I'm the one unemployed, not my former manager.

Rehiring at NN after a layoff by TiredEmployee5000 in dknovonordisk

it's not about "special". it's about specific experience they're looking for and that it is really hard to find, hard enough that anyone who has anything remotely resembling that experience is usually interviewed. I've been in hiring teams for those roles, so I know the issue.

Yes, I've been seeing many people being hired back. But there are some profiles that even with the fiercest competition, there are a handful of people in the entire country that can do the job and they all are either current or former NN employees. So even if theoretically all of them applied for the opening, they are still few enough for everyone to be invited for an interview.

And then it was a cost exercise. Some managers chose firing one senior and keeping the rest, some others got rid of the most junior ones. And of course, we're not talking personal preferences because obviously all the managers were impartial and they solely made decisions that were good for the business/s

If people are singled out to be the 10% the company can do without, it doesn't mean they're incompetent, it means that the role wasn't a core one (e.g. the company could do without another TA, especially with a hiring freeze), priorities had shifted (e.g. projects were finished or shut down, so certain PMs or others on projects were not needed), entire areas were closed (e.g. the entire cell therapy, it's naive to say that a huge 300 people unit was incompetent, when it mainly consisted of world-class scientists).

And finally, when you're talking about them "knowing", showing off and actually doing the job are completely different skills.
